Trouble networking computers

Just re-installed Win7 from scratch on my 2nd comp and now can't network folders. I'm seeing all the folders on both computers but get "Windows cannot access......you do not have admin rights. I've "Shared" them with permissions In "Change sharing options all are "ticked&quo...

Re: new install but Win updates froze me up again.

Thanks, I'll watch out for that.

I'm pretty sure what got me for both installs was loading optional updates.

MS Keyboard USB...
MS other hardware...
MS pointing drawing...
nVidia - graphic.....
Realtek........

Should have know better than to update "Optional" stuff.

new install but Win updates froze me up again.

I know which updates they were. They were optional and I can't see them to un-install. Going to go back using Sys rrestore and see if that helps. Any other ideas?

Re: can I tell the order I installed programs

Just that is was all the updates were installed Windows started not shutting down.

I did stop what programs I could from loading using "Starter" program but still wouldn't shut down. About down to a re-install.

Re: can I tell the order I installed programs

I have a bunch of windows updates and a couple of Adobe Flash player updates. Would un-installing the Windows updates screw up more than it would fix?

Re: can I tell the order I installed programs

Also I have a bunch of Windows update starting on 10-4-13. Can I really restore back to then using Sys restore and could they have fouled up my computer. And....if so would the updates not affect Safe Mode shutdown?

can I tell the order I installed programs

Still working on a computer that won't shut down normally and freezes but will shutdown normally in SafeMode. So I'd like to see what programs I installed last to see if one of the is the culprit.

Both my DVD-RW's are not working correctly

When I put in a MS Office CD or Dragon in either drawer it will not ask if I want to install but only shows all the files. When I click on to the "exe" file the cursor spins for three or four minutes and then asks me if I want to install. Then the cursor starts to spin for about Also I not...

Need to find out HD controller card mfg & Model # and

1.The system's hard disk controller card manufacturer and model
number.

2. And the system's hard disk drive manufacturer and model number.

Use to have a program that gave me all that info...I think.

Can't get the BIOS set to boot from "removable" drive. No matter what I set it at it boots to hard drive.

Any keys I could hold down to have it boot elsewhere?

Create a bootable flashdraive

I want to put SpinRite on a bootable flashdrive so I can run it.

I want to be able to use the flashdrive with SpinRite on XP & Win 7.

Do I create the bootable drive with Fat32 or NTFS?

Have looked on line on how to create it but any suggestions would be helpful.
