DSL rates
I just received a notice that my DSL service is going up $10 a month making it $44.99. I have the lowest speed 1.5Mbs and this seems too much to me. I might be going back to dial-up. I live in an area where there is only 1 DSL provider and they get to charge what they want. I was wondering what ever...

The point I was trying to make is people shouldn't use the force of government to get what they want. There are always going to be people with heath problems, some people are allergic to wood. What is the answer to all their problems, I don't know. Surely government isn't. Can you imagine the police...

I think it should be up to the business owner...*shrug* Exactly. Thinking otherwise is why the United States is in such a mess. What ever happened to respecting the rights of others? The politicians feed off of this selfishness to take away our freedoms. There are more non-smokers then smokers so t...

Trying to clear my name
Just for the record I am as pro-gun as you can get. I am a Libertarian ( http://www.lp.org ). I have been the treasurer of the York County LP ( http://www.yorklp.org ) in Pennsylvania for over 3 years. It looks like some people are getting the wrong impression about me from my moderator edited post ...

Until society adresses the root cause of this type of violence to the fullest extent possible, it will continue. Banning, guns, knives, toothpicks, or long fingernails will do no good. If someone is motivated to kill, a killing will take place. I would say the root cause is government. They control...

In case anyone wants the rest of the story, it looks like Zamos settled the case out of court with Microsoft. Before the settlement, Zamos expressed apprehension about accepting Chudakoff's offer. After all, it would force him to sign a nondisclosure agreement, which would prohibit him from discussi...

Vauss and ping times
Vauss seems to be the one most affected by high ping times. I notice sometimes with a ping of around 200 the door won't open in Stadium when shooting it with Vauss. Also I was playing someone in Coliseum and I couldn't hit him to save by butt with a 170 ping time. Now granted I am not the best aim t...

What you are looking for is called a DVD Recorder. It seems like all the DVD Recorders have issues (at least they did when I bought mine about two years ago) so be careful what you buy. Make sure the store has a good return policy. I had a Cyberhome melt down on me and tried 2 other brands and they ...

I like that level but it doesn't appear in the d3.descent.cx tracker any more. There are so few levels I can play on Linux as it is. Any chance someone could host it again?

I use Linux also. Why because...well....it's better. It reminds me of something else I support. Libertarians. I keep hearing the same old mindset from people. I know it would be better if I used/supported Linux/Libertarians but I don't because it is not popular. Whatever happend to that pionee...

I don't think anyone is going to base a game of today around a 2 or 3 year old system, really what would be the point? Maybe they should. A lot of users don't buy new systems every 2 to 3 years. And I'm just curious , but what makes you think you'd sell the game to a wider audience if you made the ...

:o Nice t-shirt JBOMB. How much? I didn't mean to make this poll confusing. I just wanted to get an opinion on if it is better to sell a game to a wider audience (low system requirements) or to the high end users. Game play was assumed to be equal. I read the posts saying that games can run o...

For High Octane
I wanted to run this poll to get the general consensus for High Octane on their new game. Here is my opinion on the matter. I did not buy Descent 3 until a few years after it was released because the system requirements were too high. I think a lot of people fell into this category and this may be a...

Food for thought. What do you think about dynamic key locations? I can't decide if that would be good or bad. On one hand the robots are placed in the level to make it challenging to reach the keys (oh no, I have to go in there to get it ) but on the other I think it would be fun to be in ran...

I remember someone talking about armor plating. Just think how funny it would be to hear the clang noise in D2 followed by a rattle when your armor plating falls off piece by piece when someone is hitting you. Then the other person picks up the plating and adds it to their ship. Oh yeah, I vote for ...
