I just graduated college in December with a BS in Computer Science and today I was finally offered a job as a Systems Analyst/Developer for a local hospital. I'll be using the M programming language to work on their finance/billing applications. Slated to start on the 19th.

I run way more than is healthy (training for a marathon right now), play guitar (I remember asking about guitars way back when here, and I finally bought one a year ago and love it... I'm really abysmal though), I am a voracious reader (currently 1030 pages into Cryptonomicon), I like to fish too.

Definitely a sweet pad. I must be crazy because I've tried a lot of the high-tech mousepads, and I have yet to find one that I like better than the cheapy cloth one I got when I signed up for RR so many years ago. The high-tech ones always feel too slippery for me so I lose precision.

The thing I love most about Thanksgiving is that gluttony is not only accepted, but encouraged. And the fact that I run a road race every Thanksgiving morning which only enhances my appetite so I can out-eat anyone the rest of the day. Yep, probably my favorite holiday 8)

What about Mars Volta? They always reminded me of the Flaming Lips. Bela Fleck is pretty damn sweet but I'm not sure how that would fit your desires. If you want some jam bands, I highly recommend moe. and Umphrey's Mcgee.

A band I always recommend is Japanese rock group the pillows. They're best known for their music in the anime series FLCL, but their work from outside this series is much better. Their albums between 1995-1999 are really the best, their more recent stuff isn't as good. Unlike most modern rock bands...
