Well, IMHO there is no need to separate players. Maybe i'm not exactly the right person to say that (i'm not a big fan of Multiplayer) but in the old D2 days i think it was a lot more fun with all the players (of all skill levels) colliding one against each other. I think that playing against good ...

D2X-XL supports True color images if you put them in the textures folder, but this method doesn't works in my computer because it uses Pixel Shader and i have a GeForce 4MX (for PCI, i don't have AGP support) :( However, i can put some hi-res textures inside the levels for some walls using DLE-XP ...

Thanks for all your comments (including the orgasm ones! LOL  ) Regarding what you say Diedel about the lighting, you're right, in big rooms there is no problem, but as you said, if i use a color that is not fully saturated in small rooms, it becames white. Here's a screen of the problem: http ...

OK, i will take care of level lighting also. However, there is some limitations in D2X-XL regarding OpenGL style lighting: the low saturated lights only works when they are too separated between 'em. In rooms with say, 4 lamps in each corner, the light tends to become completely white if there is no ...

D2X-XL Mission on the Making-Preliminary Version available!!
Well, i've been done a D2 Mission for years that mixes the D2 atmosphere with a bit of D3 and has lots of customizations (But with D2X-XL it's much better now). :) However, i hesitate a lot about showing this project to the world, 'cause first of all, it is a MOD for D2 (Custom everything: Textures ...

Well, you can put the textures on a POG file using DLE-XP, but it's too much work and you must do it for every single level you want to play  (it will not affect the entire game) That's only useful for level developers :( And if you have Pixel Shader support, then this could be a problem with ...

Do you have a video card with Pixel Shader support? I think that cards without pixel shaders can't render the Hi-res texture packs. However, if you put hi-res textures in POG files (not in Textures directory) specifically for each level, it works even without pixel shader supports (I've used some hi ...

Well, i'm pretty sure you can use XP on the computer you have, and if you can expand the RAM as you said, even better. I've ran my first XP Pro installation over a 98SE in a P3 866MHz with 128MB Ram. Certainly, it's slow, but with some tweaks about Services,Resgistry,Visuals, etc... you can speed it ...

Hey Diedel, calm down, i think Top Wop it's not exactly attacking you, so don't worry, you doesn't need to be mad at him. :) And also, fluff it's not exactly a insultative thing, i think Top Wop means that D2X-XL have many things that HE (Personally and individually) considers somewhat useless. but ...

DLE-XP version with powerup generators not in download site
Hi Diedel.
It seems like you forgot to upload the new version of DLE-XP with support for the new powerup generators.
I downloaded dle-xp just a moment ago and it was version 1.5.55 still

Descent2.de says something about new version of DLE-XP
Hey, i've noticed that in the news section of Descent2.de says something about a new version of DLE-XP from December 20 of 2006, but the last version to download in the site is the 1.5.55 and i thought that version came out before the anouncing date. The MP3 and OGG support is one of the best features of D2X-XL even added! (Also the colored lighting is a neat feature, but that's not the topic right now :P ) Thanks Diedel for your hard work! :D Sanmadjack: As Diedel says, you doesn't need to resample your OGG files, that's only for MP3 ones.
