copy protection probably won't be an issue when capturing digitally. it was designed to flub up tape to tape, not direct digital capture.

the best that VCR could have would be component out, maybe SCART if its an import.
if it did have something that wasn't an RCA or s-video jack it could have a serial port for being controlled - but that would be pro-level equipment

S-Video only gets you around 480i or 720 × 480. With the USB you'll get to capture all the little speckles and analogue artifacts. Something cheap like this would probably work with all your tape devices: https://i.imgur.com/33h2kvw.png but there are more adapter choices than that, if you check the ...

I wouldn't be surprised if the issue starts in the screensaver itself. so, to avoid burn, I would just have the monitor power off and suffer thru the gsync stupidity.

The main motivation is probably pushing people to upgrade their hardware - mainly for Intel's Adler Lake CPUs. Windows 11 currently isn't available for retail purchase - its OEM only atm. TPM 2.0(which includes dedicated hardware and firmware running a secure area in the CPU) is a convenient, non ...

this reminds me of what was happening with my old 486: the culprit was the power circuit it was plugged into, maybe there was too much load on the hole circuit, I can't remember, running a power cable to another circuit solved that.

you are at the point where there is no difference between power off and returning from sleep.
Do you mean when you go to the start menu, and select sleep and it doesn't sleep? or you select sleep, walk out of the room, come back in and its up and running?

I would too also suggest looking at a Ryzen 7 3700x.
and unless you are getting that 2070 for dirt cheap, I'd look at holding off till nvidia launches their new cards.
Also drop the DVD drive...
Adata has some nice nvme's

what is your current router atm? if its compatible, open source firmware would let you boost the power, get more range that way. Also, where is it currently in relation to the rest of the house?
you could just look at wireless extenders too.
