So I have a 126 g partition that needs to be formatted. XP is only allowing it to be NTFS if I choose to format it. Now I downloaded the sp1 pac which should enable larger partitions. Even still I should be able to use fat32 up to a 137 g size. I also have a smaller 8g partition that likewise needs ...

Thanks Mobman. One thing I had to do was eliminate the partitions I set up using the software that came with the new HD. Got a error "windows root\system 32\hal.dll" because of that. Had to use xp's tool to set up the partitions and then it worked. I did have to use my 98 disk for proof of...

Thanks Jeff, On partition size I was just wondering as to the efficiency factor of one large drive over 3 or 4 smaller partitions. I may be thinking in terms of win 98 being limited to a single partition of 37g.
