Just adding level 42 to the dropbox right now.
My midi of choice for the map is D2 level 4, but if you'd like to save that one for a boss D1 level 17 works really well in it too.

I definitely think some of those lifter traps on level 2 can stay where they are, if they're used more sparingly they could certainly add some fear to an otherwise pretty basic early level. Also keep in mind that no campaign I know of has a perfectly linear difficulty progression from level to level...

Lol. I don't think d1l18 works for 25, it's a deliberately dark level that needs a deliberately dark track. I don't particularly *like* cloaked walls. In TEW's last room it was too difficult to tell what was a wall and what was open air. If I'm to do an XL conversion of that I'll most certainly be replacing them with an actual glass texture (maybe one of D3's) just FYI. It's the only condition I can think...

If you're using D2X-XL there's an option in d2x.ini that turns off all briefings. Don't know if you are and don't remember if it's default but I think it might have been.

I've noticed the same LW. All you really need to do, though, is be mindful of where you put your light sources -- instead of spraying it all over the walls -- to make your mark.

True, but the one setting is tied inextricably to the other in DLE. (I assume that D2X-XL's transparency must be an extension of the cloak property).
Take a look at the cloak level on level 3's walls if you're not sure about that.

Being able to see into secrets without having to look for them is a pretty big advantage I think. :P If XL wants to take a ridiculous time to load you might have got lightmaps on... The vanilla engine does have transparency capability -- just look at the "glass" walls in the boss room in the last level of TEW. It wasn't used in the actual game levels but the capability is there, though very limited (it can render a texture or transparency on a wall but not both). Which is exact...

Yeah, it's kind of all held together by the Baloris textures but there's a lot more than that as well. Are you sure you haven't got one of those DXAs with recorded versions of the midi files? Sometimes that screws up custom midi songs. The midis play for me. EDIT: Played through the levels to make sure of that -- I really think the enemy placement is off; the pacing of the mission as it is right now ...
