Re:
umm.. thermal runaway, like I just posted? I find it highly dubious that a prismatic li-ion cell would have enough explosive energy to kill a person. The burns, sure.. but a death from something that small, with walls that thin? There's gotta be more to the story than just THAT. It has to be someth...

well, they're not actually explosions, but rather ruptures. Ever witness a sub-c cell exploding? Goes off like a shotgun shell. A friend of mine was unfortunate enough to be near it and he caught shrapnel in the face. That might be what happened in India recently. What's interesting to me is that t...

yep, that's what happens when a lipo battery goes into thermal runaway due to overdischarge. that smoke they're talking about in that article is actually toxic, so you would want to throw it out the window onto the street as soon as you feel it heat up. Miner Wars is coming along VERY nicely...
Some new Miner Wars footage (from the E3 build) featuing dogfighting with a drone that shoots back, new SFX, faster missiles, a new 3D radar and other goodies. Looks very promising! Information on how to participate in the closed beta testing (which starts today) can be found at this affiliate link:

Re: Cloud Computing Concerns
No offense Woodchip & Bee, but IMO, (and as Krom and others here have already intimated) discussing cloud computing in terms of US politics is a rather redundant notion given the internet's global nature. With respect you need to take a more global view. China's (potentially state sanctioned) at...

As long as I cite who I took the notes from, and the other needed information, it's completely legal, right? It includes almost everything needed to get an A in each class, for the last semester, and then some. I figured, it would be nice of me to share my class directory in Google docs, on my home...
