My main nick that I use elsewhere in cyberspace is Erinthios, but much of that comes from the things I've done with the people that I knew from the game that Erin was created for. It's my default RP nick. Plebeian is my Descent nick, been using that since playing multiplayer D1 at a friend's house. ...

What are the Jewish beliefs concerning Jesus? From what I recall (most of my knowledge of Judaism is from a few textbooks and some Jewish (religion) friends, so I'm hardly an expert), they view Jesus as just another in a long line of prophets, while of course Christians view him as the Messiah (who...

*unwraps a Snickers* Or wait, you meant the other kind, right..... 56MB of RAM, those were the days. The computer I used for the first half of my college career (before my 333MHz iMac with 512MB) had 48MB. But it was a 16MHz 68030-based Mac, so what do you expect, it was about 8 years old at ...

Don't worry about it. As long as the teeth aren't really bad and the surgeon's good, there shouldn't be any complications at all. The most common issue is dry sockets, but you just need to be smart about what you eat and drink. My biggest pain was the massive bleeding afterwards. That and I passed o...

I'll second pun's advice. Get a G5 if you can. If you really need portability, the iBook should be okay, otherwise the Mini is probably the better bet. My dad's got a G5 iMac (about the same specs as you're looking at), and he's been really happy with it. It's seemed pretty zippy from what little I'...

It's not Amazon you're buying from, but a third-party vendor. It's not Amazon's responsibility to have the shipping data there, they just show whatever they got from the third-party (if anything, as in this case). Some vendors are pretty messed up, and get you in with a low base price, and make it u...

Thanks for straightening me out Plebian ... Good find. I was just interested in finding out more info on it, since I'm in Austin and hadn't seen anything here on it (or didn't remember seeing anything, at least). Did a few searches, ran across a blog entry that linked to that PDF (on the Fisher Hou...

Plebe, in that case, let's remove all those bonuses that everyone gets for completing the project without going over the budget. Or, let's get rid of overtime pay, since you're just doing your job while you're there. Your clients give you money directly? Must be nice. (And I get no overtime, no bon...

Plebe, you've stated as fact what is your opinion. In fact there is a very good alternative to having someone bring your food to your table: cook it yourself. Where has anyone said that the menu prices are supposed to cover waitress service? Good, next time I go into a restaurant, I'll demand to be...

Actually, Plebe, mimimum wage IS enforced for tipped workers. The tip income is meant to be reported and the total of the hourly wages and the declared tips have to meet or surpass the minimum wage. Sort of. There's a lot of guesswork going on, and there's a percentage of cash vs. credit tips that ...

I hear what you guys are saying, but on the other hand, a good waiter/waitress can make a really good living for themselves. I guess I'm saying that I think the difference between a good waiter's salary and a bad waiter's salary should be the difference between making a pretty good living, and kind...

Plebe: the government specifically allows waiters and waitresses to be paid less than minimum wage. I know. Which is why I say they're not enforcing the minimum wage. Tips are supposed to be above and beyond, not instead of wages. Why not just have everyone paid with tips and nothing else? You'll b...

i would agree with you if it werent for the owners of these restaurants paying waiters and waitresses $2 an hour. who can live on that without tips? 1) They wouldn't be getting such crappy wages if the government enforced minimum wage and people understood what a tip really was. The price of the me...

Congratulations, I guess? When I had mine out, I didn't even need (so didn't take) my bottle of hydrocodone. And hurray for IV sedation. Once they turn that on, out you go! Though I pissed my wife off last time I had it because the amnesiatic effect was still on, but I was talking anyway. So I asked...
