Have a look at sub-level-zero on steam. It isn't out yet, but the ludum dare version is great fun. I'll be getting it the instant it's released because it promises just about everything youve mentiined here.

I intended to attach a video to my previous post in this thread, but it appears I forgot, so here's a sampler of the ground-based FPV:

Re: Class 1 Driller
If you grab the 3D model (fnoigy did a great job cleaning them up: http://www.shapeways.com/product/RBZ4S4TNN/class-1-driller?li=user-profile&optionId=43158350), then you can open them in blender and use the paper model exporter to create a paper template. It's what I did for a paper version of ...

No-one mentioned geocore because this is a thread about descent underground. A few notes on Geocore: - It reminds me of my own attempts at making a 6dof game.I worked for 4 years and had a passable single player going! What do i mean by this? It has exactly he same problems my one did. The robots do...

Re: I think I'm addicted to watching FPV quadcopter videos.
Yup, FPV quads for the win. Unfortunately i don't have the resources to maintain a quadcopter, (and some annoying regulations wherer i live) so instead i do fpv cars. Not as cool as flyey things, but a hang of a lot of fun whizzing around at scale 300kph. Maybe in a few years when they've sorted out...

As soon as the site's home page dissapeared, I used one of my bookmarked links to it to jack myself into the pages that still existed and grabbed a mirror of what I could. The mirroring software wasn't very good and broke all the links (ie images don't show on pages). If you're looking for something...

The hard drive isn't the bit that does UEFI, it's the motherboard that does that.
Pther than that, I know nothing about the upgrade process.

Paper PyroGX (Original Version)
Well, As I mentioned on Fnoigy's thread, I made a paper template for the PyroGX. Here's a picture of the model: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/17630723/Descent/Paper%20Pyro.jpg Took ~3 hours to assemble, the main fuselage is quite hard due to all those angles. Wish I had a color printer... And ...

I have a nice Zip file containing front-on screen shots of all the Descent 1 and 2 robots, thanks to Zico. You'll notice each shot also has the health of every bot in it, and there is a text file with the damage of each weapon in the terms the game dealt with them in. For completeness' sake, I shoul...

I went and downloaded the stl from shapeways, then opened it up in blender. After splitting the parts up, I now have a paper template that I can print and assemble. Tomorrow/coming-weekend I'll see if I can make some textures for it. I'm guessing you [fnoigy] did the cleanup to get the parts attachi...

This is the most official place I could find:
http://descent2.com/goodies/3dmodels/thinman/descent1/
They're the names I know the bots by.
That said there is a Descent Strategy Guide floating around somewhere. (A physical book. I don't have one though)

I think more cards are needed:
More of the D2 bots
Prox bomb trap card
force field something card?
blue, red and gold key cards (again, don't ask me the effect)
switch card?

Re: Geocore
Oddly enough, I googled this project only a week ago to see how it was getting on. My main critique is the sound design. Descent's sounds are very atmospheric, and sound deadly. Geocore's sounds sound rather, well, hollow. Like someone was beating the end of a trash can while shooting wimpy blobs of...

Very nice, I hope you can feel the envy from here! I'm hoping to print my own once me and a friend have finished building a 3D printer we're working on. Why so huge Ferno? At that size 3D printing is even more expensive, and it would be easier to CNC it out of MDF and assemble it, or just cut out pa...

If you're in a country where most people have guns, then it may be advisable to have one. As for where I live, I know two people who have guns. Neither are pistols, one is an air-rifle and the other a .22 for hunting. Statistically, there are 4.51 million people in New Zealand, of which only 230,000...

Still another possibility is to write the editor from scratch. A Blender texture mapping exporter w...
