Hey!

Hey everyone I haven’t posted here in like 10 years! I don’t know if anyone remembers me but I posted a lot in the Art forum and Tech forum. Thanks for helping me out in the Tech forum. I have been reminiscing about descent and thought I check back here. I’m glad the site is still online. Thank you!...

Thanks Krom and everyone else for suggesting I don't get the Xeons. The heatsink was hard to install but I managed to get my comp set up and overclocked a decent amount. The comp is like 3 times faster at rendering a test 3ds max scene, and it was cheaper to. :)

Thanks again!

I really like the landscapes/cityscapes. Have you ever thought about doing a series of some sort? These also could look very interesting colored over in photoshop.

Edit
oops. I should have read your first post lol. No wonder I was thinking comics when I saw these. 8)

lol I knew someone would say something. I mean 'somewhat' or a 'small' upgrade path. ;)

The quadro is a workstation card and it is one of the only cards that support 10bit color.

If I were to go with the higher end i7 or Xeons how are they for heat/noise and what options are there for quiter fans, heat sinks and overclocking capabilities?

Should I wait for Gulftown(Intel uses too many naming conventions...) or wait for the 6core Nehelams?

Thanks

Well does SLI work with 3ds max? If so it's not a waste. There have been many times where my viewports would go 2fps making it very hard to judge what I was doing in scenes with a lot of furr/hair.

So it's a give and take sort of thing. You lose raw speed to gain the ability to do more per clock cycle? Ok, I thought the last half of the premier was pretty decent although there was religous undertone which again reminds me of BSG

Last episode however was boring and cheesy humor... looks like this series may not keep my attention for long.

Yea it was alright. Could have been better. Too much like Battlestar. 2/3 BSG, 1/3 Atlantis and SG1, and 1/3 other. It's a lot more mature then the other seires. More blood, sex, violence and more serious. You can't really judge a series by the first episode but I found it kinda boring. Too much goi...

That is true but photography its really important to have accurate color(large color gamut) and good viewing angles. I can't stand lcds. They are not easy on the eyes and they look grainy becuase of the dot pitch. not to mention a bunch of other complaints.

Hmm still haven't decided yet but I'm leaning toward the MX1100. Thoughts: MX1100 - Cheaper - Newer - Longer battery life (I think) - 1600 DPI - Mouse is a bit bulky. - Can run on a single AA battery - I can use standard AA Batteries. I have a charger so this isn't a problem. - Doesn't have the Auto...
