Read the announcements - post in proper thread. I think Diedel's communication skills are not in question as he communicates just fine in other threads or when people pander to him, but the above line is all Diedel had to say on the Dell Dimension issue. While not a flame, it is a curt emotionless ...

Ahhh. Diedel strikes again. Diedel tends to be a little anal about which particular thread people post in and tends to be very quick to anger. He is not an example of the people here. I'll take a stab at your laptop issue. Make sure you have the most up to date version of D2X-XL Update your video dr...

3: Continuity of existence. Most of the molecules in my body have been exchanged in the last few years, so I don't feel like I am who I am because of the physical material I am made out of. What if you completely duplicated the patterns in my brain (as Issac's theory suggests), but did it while I w...

1. Do quarks sing? 2. If not, how can electrons, protons, and neutrons sing? 3. If not, how can atoms sing? 4. If not, how can molecules sing? 5. If not, how can you sing? But we can sing, so reductio ad absurdum quarks can sing. Unless I'm misunderstanding your argument, this is textbook fallacy o...

I like where you're going Roidy but let's break it down even more. Your brain is a complex molecular structure. These molecules are composed of atoms. Atoms are composed of protons, electrons, and neutrons. These particles are composed of quarks. And so on... 1. Do quarks think? 2. If not, how can e...

I think Neumaennl has a good point. Textures should be compressed. It serves many purposes, not the least of which is HD thrashing. It makes little difference what format OGL uses in that you have to read the texture into memory and buffer it. You can very easily implement a decompressor and that wa...

Why not use D3's texture format? You would have lossless compression, source code already available and plenty of converters. While it only supports 16 bit textures, the filesize is plenty small. For example, a 640x480 24-bit TGA sizes from 900KB to 175KB. OGF supports both 5.5.5.1 and 4.4.4.4 types...

When I plug the DSL modem into the phone jack and nothing else, I will get a steady DSL green light after a little while. If you don't have this, there may be a device on your phone line that is not filtered. Alarm system maybe? If you do get a steady green for the DSL then that part is good to go. ...

Sorry Roid. If only that were the case, things would be a lot easier. As Grendel said, those files are including as a reference. They are only header files and only enough .c and .cpp files to compile d3edit, not d3. To actually change the FOV, you'll have to use a HEX editor and actually search for...

Actually, I was just talking about this with VonVulcan earlier today and it's funny that this particular effect was actually in D3 as well however it was not in effect when the fusion bug was still around. The Russian page is talking about how to change the FOV by finding the hexadecmial floating point representation for the value 72.0. This was discussed some time ago by Patches and does indeed work.
