What I would do (given I have the money) is I would buy an external drive and save a compressed archive to it. I use WinRAR to do such, and when compressing a RAR archive I also save the NTFS file streams (option in advanced tab). If I am backing up a system drive (ie windows drive), I would use ima...

that is correct. You'd be better off booting from a solid state drive (SSD) or external hard drive.Krom wrote:Yes its possible to boot XP off a USB flash drive, however it should be noted that many USB flash drives are actually very slow at random reads/writes and will take forever to boot.

I am familiar with data measure scale up to yottabytes and zetabytes. A 64-bit OS and CPU can address up to 8GB of memory; 32-bit can address up to 4GB. Often support for those amounts aren't put in by motherboards, BIOS, or OSes because of the effort needed to support such an amount. For example, this is why most 32-bit boards/chipsets supported up to 2GB of RAM most...

The air conditioner at my house broke Monday last week. Water leaking from the condenser coil dripped through the unit and got into the little metal box where the control circuit board is, and the board shorted out and fried. It's a good thing my house has an attic fan, and the weather's been cool; ...

Something you can accomplish just as easily with partitioning... True, that. I use two drives for such purposes (rather than using partitions), as well as dividing the load to improve performance.
