Re:
I would rather get a Samsung. Whenever I look at a Vizio next to a Samsung, the Samsung has a better picture. I suppose beauty is in the eye of the beholder. They had a Toshiba at sears next to a Vizio, Toshiba looked better. But then i noticed that the Toshiba was directly connected to a BluRay pl...

Just thought id give you an update. Took a broken Fan, and clipped the wires leading to it. Stripped the ends and spliced them with the LED Bar: http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu18/romeonate/04-28-09_0808.jpg Two wires leading to the fan, one was already on the Yellow/12V, the other was ground. ...

Re:
Ohh, okay.fliptw wrote:for 12v you need all 4 wires.
black is ground, obviously; Yellow is 5v and red is 7v IIRC.
So to power the 12v light, I will need to run the Yellow and Red together to the LED., and run both of the black cables together to the LED's other cable.

Actually, I think i may have figured it out - see what you think: Got a broken Fan, it is attached to one of those Pass-Thru power cables. Power in on one side, power out to another device on the other. With two wires already split out to the Fan. Clipped the two cables leading to the fan, and will ...

So, doing a little Case Modding - I pickedup a Neon Light bar from the Auto Section at WalMart. Requires a 12v connection. Didn't realize it at the time (Mostly because the box was sealed and I couldn't tell) but the wire that comes with it has just two exposed ends. No plugs or anything. Well - doi...

Re:
Buying shares in Interplay was never a wise thing to do, even before the economy tanked. As I said in April last year, they had a lot to redeem themselves for. Depends on how much you spend and how much you can afford to lose. A friend of mine bought some last year at 5 cents per share, then sold t...

yeah - I got both actually, nTune and RivaTuner.. Riva seems a bit eaiser to use. At any rate, my system Memory came with heat-spreaders, but I am thinking about getting an active cooling solution for them, something like this: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?Edp...

Portal was awesome - I too just recently got into it. I beat it last week, then turned a friend on it and let him play. The game changes the way you think about linear movement*, and its very interesting to see how other people would solve the problem. Like on one level - he did it a way I didn't th...

Funny you mentioned that about the PSU. I had a 350watt in my system when I bought this card. That was plenty to run the old one (GeForce 7900GT). But the new one required at least 680watt to run in SLI mode which I plan on doing in the next couple of months. So I had this card on my desk for a week...

The up-coverters work. I had a Standard DVD Player/Up-Converter to 1080p, and it works great on my 42-inch LCD... The one I got was a WalMart special for $40 and it did the job nicely... until the CD Tray broke.. then I went out and got a Blu-Ray player that also up-converts. And I have to tell you ...

So I was playing Half-life 2 the other day... and the game itself had been running for like.. i dunno, 8 hours. I played some, ran to the store to get some snacks, while I was gone a friend played some, got back, we kept playing... Then, we noticed that some of the textures started looking funky, a ...

Building Budget System... 1 question
I am building a Budgest system out of spare parts, but of course - I want to get the best product out of spending the least amount of money. Important to note, this will *not* be my primary system. It will be a spare machine that will be used as an extra computer for LAN Parties or when friends drop...

Thats kindof the idea. In this situation, having an SQL backend is not possible at the moment. This is for a local intranet, and they don't want to deal with a database. I figured having individual htm files to hold the content and a single php file to call them would be simple enough - but looks li...
