Could it be that you changed something in the movie playback since 1.8.9? I didn't find anything regarding this in the version history though... I'm just asking coz on my Desktop PC (P4@2.7GHZ, 768MB RAM, GF4 Ti4200) using v1.8.9 the movies look ok, but they play slow as hell and on my Laptop (Centr...

well, recalculating the normals outside is absolutely no problem in any 3D program, but unless you have a different model from the ones available at the Descent Network it's a major PITA to fix the faces thingy, I've already looked at them and the meshes are horrible. You'd be better off remodeling ...

The problem is that you need 3 fingers to control all 6 axes, so if you want to use the 2 buttons simultaneously (as required by Descent, for example) you'd have to use all 5 fingers of your hand which I imagine would feel quite awkward and would reuire quite a lot of practising.

It sounds like McAffee thinks the Copy Protection Software is a Trojan and therefore blocks it. And Homeworld thinks Copy Protection doesn't work, so I block myself.
So just try to let that SecuROM thingy pass McAffee and see what happens.

Is the rigging of the hand such a big problem? I would imagine getting the torso, legs and all the other things rigged is much more difficult.
I've only been playing with blender so far, though and it was stuff way less complex than the things you do.
