I'm sorry, guys...
I'm out of town, and the server appears to be down. I can't even hit my router - I think it might be a power outage back home.
You guys might have to find an alternate host.

Re: What was that about white privilege not existing?
What I find utterly interesting about this thread is that in some ways, it's reflective of the study linked in the original post. [ For those who didn't look at the study: Despite the thread title, the linked study was not about the existence of white privilege. The study was primarily about how whi...

They're "stackable" combining unicode characters. The only reason to use that many of them is to be annoying.
This kind of junk is one reason I have "display signatures" turned off in my DBB settings. I highly recommend using the board without them.

Oh, I love those. I have multiple Windows boxes, so if I have time, I'll keep them talking for a few minutes by playing confused/skeptical about which machine they're referring to (the usual reply is, "well, any of them", at which point I can play the baffled, "you mean it's all my ma...

Re: Freedom of Religion
The core issue here seems to be about accomodation. Employees can appeal to Title VII, but that doesn't apply for elected officials. So, the question becomes: Would it be appropriate to extend an accomodation to an elected official? Lothar appears to believe it would be harmless and in everyone's be...

Re: Home networking question; ethernet, powerline or ???
I had a similar issue, connecting a media-center computer in a semi-distant bedroom. I first tried wifi, which worked fine for some things, but not well enough for my networked hdtv tuner. Ended up carefully running a cable down a wall, around a corner, and over a door frame. It's fairly unnoticeabl...

It theoretically could work with any card supporting OpenAL, but after looking around a bit, it looks like it's desgined for Creative cards only (although there is at least one variant which works with other cards/chipsets).
