This is all rather amusing. The US HAD to know Obama would try his best to disarm your military. At any rate, the news media has you Americans so focused on terrorists and terrorism that you forget your traditional adversaries. Remember North Korea? I hope so. Hmm..coldstart level...I guess it depends on difficulty level too, unless you mean at Insane in general. I'd say L11(Insane) is the hardest for me to coldstart. I can't survive the red hulks without some homers or smarts myself.

Tracker

I'm somewhat at a loss as to how to setup a tracker with the tracker.pl file included with D2X-XL.

If it's as simple as adding the script to the default runlevel and starting it as a service, I'll feel like a moron.

I keep meaning to checkout the D2X source from CVS and add multi-ship support, but it's a very low priority these days.

It still will lock and crash at the pilot selection screen, but only 1 in every 5-7 starts at least now. Aside from that, with .217 of D2X-XL, it w...

101.41 Is what I'm using. Newer versions caused many glitches. I'll DL and try that exact version though and see what happens.

UPDATE: 158.24 is not availible for laptop users. Closest is 158.18, close enough you think?

I think you misunderstood me. The speed of the GX is not because it is the GX. It is because it was D1/2. The problem of scale comes with the need to measure speed by the length of the ship itself, refined even further by defining speed in the term of \"cockpit lengths per second\". Why ar...

When developing the scale for Descent IV, we in Orbital did a rather indepth study of scale and speed. I can't find the white paper at this exact moment, but we pretty much had all the numbers written out. First, a \"cube\" in D1/2 is not the same size as a \"cube\" in D3. a Cube...

It's just that I don't think D2X-XL has a dedicated server command switch yet, so a host would have to be a player as well, which limits what you can host a \"server\" on. Thus, people aren't hosting games often at all. Best option is to start a game and invite others to join via Vortex or...

In the oof model, engine glows are usually a 3 vert face. If you get them flipped backwards..the engine plumes go through the ship and out the front instead. We got that glitch during the D4GX's development. :P
