Re: How to save our cat's life?

I won't deny you have a point, but that's a pretty cold way to make it, I think. I wish I could help. I can't stop thinking how scared the cat must be... Sometimes cold is the best way to be about these situations, hurts less on both sides. You shouldn't let an animal suffer, but you shouldn't go b...

Re: How to save our cat's life?

Does the cat go outside, is it getting into something? If you can't afford it, don't let the animal suffer, put it down. No matter how attached I am to my cat, if it was going to make me go broke to keep her alive, then she'd be getting put down. You can always get another cat (not exactly a shortag...

I think he is thinking that 1 dollar = 1 ruble, when in fact, 1 dollar = 31.92 rubles, so, $1,000,000 will equal 31,924,700 rubles.

How does one fit a two-bedroom apt in 240 square feet? Or did I do my math wrong. Thats the size of my living room. Are these like, RV's stacked up on each other or something?

I just watched the movie and I thought it was great. You have to remember this isn't the same time frame as the original movies, this is at least 25 years earlier in the timeline. And as far as the villain being shallow plot too compared to DS9 and whatnot, you can only do so much character dev in 2...

Re: UPS - computer starting up after being shut down?

Its likely that if the cable is hooked up and the software was installed, then there could be a setting in there that turns on the computer at a specific time for one reason or another, however I would think that you could prevent that by turning off a "wake on usb" function in the systems...

Yes, total conversions (mods) and other freeware can be made and distributed, provided they're not making money off it. The models and artwork and music all have to be made completely from scratch, you can't re-use any original material. You also cannot call it "Descent". You can say its a...

If your network is 10/100 you will never see 100mb/s and 80-90 is typical - to see that full 100mb/s you'll need to upgrade your equipment to gigabit. Docsis 3 modems have Gigabit Ethernet ports on them. You're always going to lose a little speed through any consumer router, and particularly on wire...

Re: Feedback on idea for web development

It might be better to follow the packet tracer example. Make a program where its a virtual lab. You run the program, and in it you have a "virtual server" to host your "virtual pages" on and run scripts etc. You could load the program onto a disc and package it with the book.

Re: Feedback on idea for web development

I think this is a great idea, but I think it needs to be structured, like, built to use in tandem with a course study book. Cisco has a tool similar in spirit for its certification classes, its called Packet Tracer, and it allows you to build virtual networks and you can log onto each machine in the...

The one thing I didn't like about the 2009 movie, was that you had to read the comicbook prequels to understand why Nero was the way he was and how his ship got equipped with borg-enhanced weaponry. From what I understand, they're doing the same thing with this new movie too.
