So in other words, you wouldn't mind if someone used "Suncho" as his new name, joined servers that say "G-rated server, keep it clean", then disrupt those who are playing and repeatedly fword players. Then when your "target" leaves, follow him and keep doing it. If you...

Whoa! Are we actually talking about banning someone for using a certain name and speaking certain words? Let's get some perspective here! That just sounds wrong to me. It's a game and it's just words, and whoever it was, was just messing around. Bettina, honestly you have made yourself a target with...

#6: Using banking controls does something seriously screwy if you are in automap. Definitely not the way it worked int the original game. To exemplefy the effect, zoom out, strafe left, and bank 90 degrees left, in that order. Now try to look around the map. That's it for now... Time to get back to...

Ok. Just to be sure, I did this: 1. Did a fresh install of D2 into an empty directory: 2. Extracted version 1.5.158 into another empty directory. 3. Create the following subdirectories in the D2X-XL directory: config data missions movies profiles savegames screenshots 3. Move the following files fro...

Re:
My D2X-XL reads d2x.ini from the config folder. Make sure you don't have a copy in the main folder, maybe that's your problem. Mine doesn't and I'm sure I don't have a d2x.ini outside. EDIT: Note that I just tried putting it in its folder for the first time, so it's entirely possible that it would ...

On a related note, I'd like to see a command line option for D2X-XL that specifies which set of data to use.
Something like:
-mainhog d2demo.hog
or something like that. =)

This is what happens in Windows if you don't have the Descent 2 data properly installed.Brebs wrote:The downloads for source and executable are stuck at version 1.5.155 (which for me, segfaults with the SDL parachute immediately).

I'd like to get D2X-XL to support the D1 Demo. I got it working insomuchas it loaded the mission and played the briefing screen. However, when it tries to actually load the level, I get this warning: http://upload3.postimage.org/60589/0023d1demopig.jpg In order to get this far, I had to have both th...

I used to think pitch speed was half the turn speed in d1/d2 (it's not in d3). Then I played D2X-XL and assumed I must have been wrong. =) 1.5.158: If I start D2X-XL without any of the data, I get a segmentation fault. A more helpful error message would be great. Maybe this isn't really a bug, but m...

After buying a Riva 128 instead of a Voodoo1 and a Riva TNT instead of a Voodoo2, I promised myself that I'd only buy 3dfx for the rest of my life because of how much the nVidia cards sucked. So instead of going TNT2, I went Voodoo3, and instead of going Geforce2, I went Voodoo5. I don't regret it f...

#3: Dang - in sub menus it works. :? I just realized that the arrow properly scroll through which menu options are highlighted, but it doesn't scroll the actual vertical position of the menu. So on the main menu if I click the down arrow, it'll highlight the "Play D2 Missions" checkbox at...

Obi-wan, it depends on the type of information each frame contains. If each frame only contains a snapshot of one point in time, then it's easy for the human eye to see flickering at 60fps. On the other hand, if each frame contains continuous information from the time interval between this frame and...

the fastest the human eye can see is 24.5 fps awhile a very well trained human eye from a progamer can't see the difference above the 48 frames per second so what is your point, to me it's pointless talk laddie ;) It's true that the eye can't see more than 24.5 fps, but you have to ask yourself wha...

The bug is that it's possible to make them overlap. If it's too tedious to fix, then don't worry about it. I just reported it because I figured you'd like to know. 1.5.154 #3: The scroll arrows still don't work. The change list says it was fixed. Go into the main menu at 640x480 resolution and try t...
