I was wondering if one could employ multi-layered texturing, like featured in the Direct3d version of Unreal. Where a texture looks like one thing from afar, but when getting close to it, you see all the fine details. That was a cool graphical effect, one I'd like to see attributed to D2.

Anyway, I agree, no special FX, no special camera tricks. All good down-to-earth photography and on the set explosions. Classic film making. I liked it.

the whole multiplayer aspect isn't fun to me. So I stick to Single player and 1 on 1 matches for the select few I play against.

impossible, I have 1 ghz computer, and yet doing the highest resolution on d1x with 80 fps makes it run incredibly slow. I doubt its the speed of my computer that's effecting this.

yep, set it at the highest resolution to get decent framerates. It runs smooth on my fast computer.
Personally, the framerate cap in D1x is stupid. Why give players a 1076x768 resolution when the framerate is gonna be capped at 80? Makes no sense. O_O
