When voltage is lower, bits are lost, lost bits = lower volumes... experienced this first hand on a long SPDIF run. I had to bump down the decoding rates and bump up the input levels to compensate.

Krom Co-ax uses a voltage and it does too fricken' matter especially on long runs. Also I am very aware optical doesn't pass a voltage. I have a degree in Robotics and Industrial Electronics plus I ran a repair shop for 12 years... I still fix stuff but its Industrial boards and controllers among ot...

Krom is correct about the fixed volume bit and also about recording \"too hot\" or clipping. Also levels depend on the manufacturer's preferences and the decoders used in the receiving equipment. I've noticed SPDIF signal levels have dropped from 5 volt TTL values to .600 volts, with some ...

Co-op Play with Scare...

Dear Scare, when playing Co-op the idea is to rescue the hostages, kill the robots, wait until everyone is ready for the exit THEN destroy the rector. You left me with the hostages deep in the mine and then blew the reactor without warning. I for one will be skipping your Co-op games until you learn...

People are different in cultural, economic, and social ways. Combine this with genetic traits such as intelligence and physical appearance and it appears as a species that we seem to be acting no different than our ancient ancestors did eons ago. So in a way we are the same in that aspect. Instead o...

Foil its not Windows causing the issue but it may be the Toshiba recovery software... it may want to see a certain size or brand of hard drive. I've run across this before with brand name systems. I've installed regular OEM software then called in to activate it... never had an issue.
