I think there's two different customer bases you need to consider before saying the iPhone is awesome/sucks: - The consumer who wants to show off YouTube videos to her friends or check email online or just have style of phone - The enterprise guy who needs to check and answer email rapidly, be able ...

There's a boot flag you can set to let you do it in Windows but not every application plays nice with it so it's off by default.

Don't let me stop you from ranting about Vista, but your arguments against 32 vs 64 bit seem a bit off. Most 32 bit applications will install, but they can’t address memory in excess of 2 gigs. Correct. That is the difference between 32-bit addressable space and 64-bit. With 32-bit, I have 4 bytes f...

I know it's overexposed, but remember how much exposure time most telescopes use to make an image. Factor is some scattering from all the pollution and it's hardly fud. I can't see much in the way of stars around my area, and I'm in a smallish town. I can see the glow of Philadelphia 15 miles away....

That photograph is over exposed. I know that you need long exposures to capture images in space, but if I go stand on top of that hill, that's not what I'm going to see.

I'll give you I don't know enough about how reading and writing formulas works in XLSX. But just raw data is easy to import and export. And my point is that's a huge win over the binary format. It's easy to write a PHP script to read and write XLSX data now, it's much harder to do that with the bina...

Well I'll give you my (personal) perspective: Compare reading data from an XLSX file and XLS file. It's many times easier to generate your own graphs and tables based on the spreadsheet data now. XML is easy to read and documented. It's much easier to write your data to Excel now as well. All your d...

Is the chart thing a bug? Probably. Converting from binary to XML is an incredibly hard engineering problem. Try taking one of the articles suggestions: using localized names for XML tags and values. Say a product ships in 50 languages. So now I can have 50 different ways of storing the same tag. I ...
