As a recent layoff myself (I'm employed again), I feel for ya. There's no such thing as job security anymore. Employment security, if you have the skills and experience and drive to constantly grow, but no one job is forever anymore.

I have an LG monitor, actually. 19\" 1280x1024 that I bought about 3 years ago and still works/looks fantastic. Of course, if you care about the welfare of dogs in the illegal but inadequately enforced dogmeat trade, you won't buy Korean products.

Just note that if these huge files you are burning are larger than 2 GB, you have to use the UDF format for the DVD, ISO can't store files larger than 2 GB. At least one file is--they're backups of raw video. I assume DeepBurner or CDBurnerXP or whatever tool I use will give me the option to select...

About 20 miles away, but it depends on the station. Channel 24 is kinda flaky and 18 is even worse, but 58 comes in fine.
