The only ones that somewhat bother me are the *false advertising* ones. Here in Denver we have two guys with pretty clever acts. One dresses as a priest and the other as a fireman (sorta) and uses a bucket for *donations* as firemen sometimes do. I'm sure both guys make a killing on a good day. That...

With Rhenquist looking like Death Warmed Over there will be two appointments for Bush, perhaps even concurrently. Singly, the Dems could block, bluster and threaten and probably each new appointee would be moderate, but with two, as Goob mentioned, at least one will likely be dyed-in-the-wool conser...

Kids believe they are invincible and over the years I've noticed that pretty much anything you tell teenagers not to do (whether for their own good or not) is the first thing many will gravitate towards. I'm anticipating a large conversion to Islam among today's/tomorrow's rebellious youth as the ne...

A lot of speculative art from fans, as far as I can determine. Expect *something* from GM in a rwd coupe to compete against the resurgence of *muscle* from Ford and Chrysler ( http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=102664 ) but it doesn't sound like it's made any sort of commitment toward resurrect...

^x2@Stryker. The age of fighterbots and remotely-controlled strike and fighter aircraft will soon be upon us. I would also expect to seem them expand their roles beyond the traditional roles for warcraft. Imagine also possessing the ability to put themselves into geosynchronous orbit above a battle ...

Doesn't this come up every several years? We must be coming up to another election cycle. Either way, it always gets tossed. As it stands (and as I've noted in the past) I'd just as soon keep it legal since it makes it soooo much easier to spot the idiots. ;) It's what the flag stands for and...

Of course, only time will tell but in my estimation it just doesn't have legs. The Dems are trying to give it legs but I seriously doubt anyone cares at this point except the Hush==Bitler, Gitmo==Gulag cabal that would try to *fix* an impeachment bid if Bush spit on the sidewalk. And no one's listen...

Pally, perhaps you can help us understand the Wernecke story from an insider's perspective. From what I've been reading Texas CPS appears rather heavy-handed (to put it politely). Yes, I understand a judge rules on taking a child into custody but it flows from a CPS request. This is somewhat of an i...

Lord help us if an autopsy remains the only definitive test for these sorts of dilemmas. In another situation it could have just as easily been either inconclusive or a major *oops*. Sorry, but this procedure is not reversible. It would be nice to expect a future time when someone doesn't hav...

That link freezes Firefox for some reason. Perhaps you could post some researchable passages from the PDF. From a quick news search of some of the directors and advisors I don't hold out much hope for an objective or balanced appraisal. Chosen randomly, one advisor (Zinn) is described by Wikipedia t...

Makes sense to me. Unfortunately, from what I've read Mac OSX will only run on Itanium so that your average Pentium user will still have to buy hardware from Apple if they wish to switch. On the other hand I'm guessing game/software developers will have a much easier port to OSX if it's on Intel arc...

Since you bring it up, why after all those years did you divorce? Your idea? Hers? Mutual? I know it's none of my business but I'm curious anyway.
