You know, I watched a playthrough of descent maximum on PSX a while back... the level names were *not* the same as on the PC port -- they were mostly obscure gibberish-like names sorta similar to those three maps in Overload -- and the robot briefings were not in the same places as they were in D2 C...

No. I still don't think it's possible to do what he's asking. Oh, that'll depend what version of the game you're running.
If you're running Rebirth the easiest thing would be to look for the installer A Future Pilot put together, which will basically do it all for you. Then, if you're curious about the format you can just look at it :)

I believe D2 and the mac versions of the games had their music in a standard CD Audio format but the PSX versions used a different format that let them fit a few more minutes of audio on the CD. I haven't even played Overload or any of the new 6DOF games. The game does look very impressive. Overload looks like a fusion between D2 and D3, but with it's own style. I mean honestly I wouldn't know, I've played D1 and D2 continuous on insane but I don't think I've tried more than Vertigo's first few levels that way. And that's not even the same thing you're doing.

Heyas. I don't think we've met but I think I know you by your music. Lyris, right?

I'm able to run Overload maxed out on the equivalent of an i5; with a GeForce 1060 (6gb); and, I think 12 gb of ram. So this game is not quite as demanding as Krom's specs make it look, if you're on a budget. :P

Yeah, I've added it to one of our levels (#6) for Descent 1 & a half now and I can tell you it's going to work REALLY well. The combination of that level's geometry and the music track feels kinda like Solrazor's old missions. I may try and get it into one of the later ones as well if I can find...

I remember 8 levels without thief. I think it was 4, 8, 12, 15, 16, 22, 23 and 24. And then there's level 1 where thief was optional.
Vertigo I believe had a thief on every level, even bosses.

I noticed that my first time through too... only real exception seems to be level 20.
Though there were a couple that seemed to focus on their own unique challenges, like the way level 4 had swarms of small robots in really tight tunnels, or level 12 and all its Red Fatty Jr syndrome.

True, true... but, since there's not really any gameplay going on in the hub it's also a chance to use something maybe a bit more ambient.
What about taking the background pads and chords from a song like, say, Surviving, soloing them and turning the tempo down?
