This thread is going very nicely. You guys have the idea. This is a measure of interest. Not really a deciding item. It helps more with planning and it is always something good to some investors. Plus it makes us all feel warm and toasty to know everyone is still interested.
Thank You!

Ok zbriggs, not to be mean, but you always sound very cocky in your posts. A cocky programmer is a good thing  , but bad for most everything else. That's a good thing. Then I'm good with being cocky. Most people don't realize this but I am actually a programmer. I was put in this position aft...

I would wait. The problem is that we are not set up for vending yet. We will have to bring things in at bulk and if you only want one, no offense but we will be loosing our ***. However, if the poll turns out good we may start vending as soon as June as long as we have clearence. Based on this infor...

Re:
I voted NO because I could most likely find the parts somewhere else for cheaper. CALIFORNIA I highly doubt that. The video card (Geforce 6800GT 256MB GDDR3 16x PCI Express) and memory (1GB DDR) combo kit is only $150. I voted no, even though I think it is a good idea, because I'm planning on using...

The release date is still TBD, we aren't done deciding the full amount of time it will take to get everything, including platforms to release state. As for system upgrades, this is something we have kicked around in the company a lot over the months. We are thinking about creating upgrade packages, ...

Re: Core Decision \"delayed until 2007\"
Sad. But True. Sad because, in my view "2007" is a code-word for "never". *sigh* I'm not sure how delaying the game's release by a few months translates into never happening. This is just plain being negative, a great deal of games delay now days. We didn't even try to come up w...

Ross was originally incharge of our P.R. and Marketing department. He was my mentor and best friend. He died shortly before the end of our previous project and at the begining of this one. He loved Descent and was one of the biggest reasons I persue this project as hard as I do. Many of us saw him a...

OK. I want to make this known. We know you can figure it out later but at least we can delay the enevitable. We are not going to mess with your drivers or dlls. This is not our style, we are strongly against spyware, adware, and virus. It is against our ethics in embed third party software in our pa...

As I have stated many times before, Mike Kulas and Matt Toschlog own the development rights as Parallax. Interplay owns the publishing rights. Haven't development rights doesn't do a spit worth of good without the publishing rights. And you will under no conditions get Interplay to caugh them up. I ...

OK, the reason we have never answered the BSP / CSG limitations question is because there wasn't an answer. The engine doesn't restrict your level size but your system resources do. You can't build a level larger than your system resources can handle. We have no plans to make any outdoor or in space...

This does not mean that we have outdoor areas. This demo is designed to show what the engine is capable of. We will have areas that view the outdoors but you will still be unable to fly freely. The biggest reason we do not have outdoor areas is because it completely changes the game flow, speed, and...

Re:
Why would any of us play a game with limited axes? Put us into a new 6dof game and we'll just configure our controls like Descent and start playing with all 6 axes. Like I said, you can do exactly what you said. Jump in, configure it to the settings you are used to, and play. Think of the limitatio...

Not to rain on your parade but its like this. The training tiers are for new players that have never played Descent. This game is designed to not only continue this community but rebuild it. Second, you don't have to join a lower tier server if you don't want to, I.E. the newbies don't have to eithe...

OK, at present we are using a relatively standard and well document file format for objects and levels. We are considering the possibility of having 3 levels of editing. Level 1 - Simpler prefab based editor kinda of like DLE. Level 2 - A more complex engine with better abilities, similar to UnrealE...
