Re: Joystick reccomendations
I've got one of the adapters. The overall decline in performance of my 3D Pro is what's initiated this search to begin with. But given how many functions you need to have control over in modern space and flight sims, I'm trying to find a way to get an accurate, standalone stick with more than 10 fun...

Re: Sooooo .. a Hover Board. ...Seriously.....
All we need to do is prove the existence of and learn to manipulate the graviton and perhaps we can one day make an actual Back to the Future Part II style hoverboard.

Re: Joystick reccomendations
Allright, so, anyone with modding experience know how hard it would be to take half or all of the base buttons on the base of the T16000M and add them to the stick somehow? I'm dead serious. No one makes the standalone stick I want so I think I'm just gonna get the tools to mod it and make it myself.

Re: Joystick reccomendations
Tried the Logitech. I really, REALLLLLLLY wanted to like it, but there were just too many things wrong with it. The good: Nice, heavy base Throttle had a good feel to it, despite being very small Buttons felt nice Handle was very comfortable The bad: One of the base buttons did not work reliably The...

Re: Joystick reccomendations
That gave me some insight, but still there's surprisingly little about accuracy around center. Basically imagine trying to line up a mass driver shot from 20kilometers away and you see why I need absolute precision. Might end up giving the Logitech 3D Pro a shot, since it's cheap and a store in town...

Joystick reccomendations
My old 3D Pro has more or less bit the dust, so I'm looking for replacement suggestions. My main concern is accuracy around the center for tiny adjustments. That basically means I want a stick that both has no deadzone and has a physical mechanism that centers it perfectly. Don't care if it's a budg...
Re: EM Drive
I'm still wondering just how the hell it works. It violates established scientific laws and no one knows how.
Absolutely fascinating to know that there's something big involved and this drive is the first clue we've got about it.

If you look at Pluto's "heart" it looks a lot like Pluto, the Disney dog, in profile.
What do you guys make of that coincidence?
I wonder how much of the surface will be completely different the next time we send something to view Pluto.

Maybe we can petition Google and Apple to flash a "turn your phone horizontal!" reminder to people when they hit the video record button.

Wish it was feasible to put a probe in orbit of pluto-charon. Unfortunately I have to imagine that decelerating the probe would be a huge problem.
Speaking of orbiters, when are we gonna put one around Uranus or Neptune?

I think the best sci-fi to be had these days is in the video game industry, myself.
Anything promising on TV dies after half a season due to budget, the fact that the audience is more inclined to watch on DVR vs live, or simply being on FOX.

True. I was referring to episodes 4 - 6. Those are the most memorable and best ones. I think that Lucas had some sort of brain fart when he did 1 - 3. The main difference between the original trilogy and the prequels was that during the original trilogy, Lucas had people around him who were willing...

As far as I know the final boss is completely immune to energy weapons. Boss immunities are a pain in the ass at some points in D2. The level 20 boss is immune to impact weapons I believe. The only thing guass and missiles do, if I recall, is make him spawn in cloaked lifters or something. Smart mi...

Sounds like the sound some kind of stuck valve would make as its forced open and metal rubs against metal, slowed down to 50% or less of realtime, partially looped, and overdubbed. Some of the videos out there are obvious fakes as the ambient noise is monaural while the sky noise is in stereo, and v...

If you're gonna do D2 with D1 weaponry, should probably leave the D1 arsenal nerfed. Otherwise it's not that big of a difference in firepower. Also the difference in D1 Q4 vs D2 Q6 is 52 vs 50 iirc. Plasma still does the same. The challenge is in the fact that lasers are now your biggest damage deal...

All I want is a singleplayer campaign with a spreadfire cannon and robots I can actually hit on Ace/Insane unlike in D3 where killing a single robot is a 2 minute dogfight because of how small and agile the robot is.

Well if I were to go with another ATI card, what one would I need to get to get equivalent performance compared to the 4850? an R9 270X, same price range as the 750 TI, faster, louder, hotter, and more power hungry than the 750 TI.
