Re: Replacement video card advice
Well if I were to go with another ATI card, what one would I need to get to get equivalent performance compared to the 4850?

Re: Replacement video card advice
From what little I've glanced at on the web, it seems the 4850 beats the pants off the 730. So at this point I am probably going with either the 750 or 750 TI. My only concern is DirectX 9 performance since a lot of my games are older and it sounds like the 4850 is better in that single category tha...

Re: Replacement video card advice
Hm, cheapest on newegg is around 110. Was hoping for something under 75. And PCIE spec is more or less irrelevant then? A PCIE 3.0 card will work in 2.0 slot? I used to be knowledgeable about stuff like this but I haven't bothered paying attention in years. Also whats the 750s performance in older g...

Replacement video card advice
Hey all I need to replace my aging video card as it is starting to go on the fritz. It's an AMD HD 4800 series card, I believe a 4850. I'd like to find something at a reasonable price that has performance on par or slightly better than the HD 4800. My mobo can only do PCIE 2.0 as well, so keep that ...

I don't think anything like this has a chance in hell of happening. Phone manufacturers don't want their customers to be able to incrementally upgrade only one part of their phone when they need it, that means they wouldn't be buying a whole new $700 phone when they want just slightly more than what...

The most abundant type of matter in the universe; because if it was not there galaxies and other stellar structures would not have the mass needed to stay together; and no because it does not interact with normal matter in any discernible way.

The chording feature/bug in games goes back at least as far as Wolfenstein 3d, which had bichording, but where it was more difficult to rationalize given the mechanics of the human body. :P I think they fixed it in Doom. I watched a few episodes of that lets play a while back. To be honest I found that your commentary, while entertaining, went all over the place and didnt really talk about the game that much, so it made it hard to actually focus on the gameplay.

In the Europa level, I make it all the way to the large fan that you need to reverse the fan blades on by shooting a switch on the wall. Then, once you enter the fan area, you are forced up to the top of the tunnel where there is a chandelier type object and you shoot the stem that's holding the obj...

So I'm guessing you had extreme difficulty getting the cube lighting right in level 3? The rooms are plenty lit but all the robots are black until I start firing on them.
