That would be glBlendFunc (GL_ONE_MINUS_DST_COLOR, GL_ONE_MINUS_SRC_COLOR), which is available in OpenGL.

Btw, re your 6 frame flash: The sparks fading quickly is np - the effect comes and goes extremely fast when starting or ceasing to fire.

What is screen blending - GL_ONE, GL_ONE_MINUS_DST_COLOR?

You could multiplay the mask with itself before using it als alpha channel.

Sounds are loaded at program start, so you cannot currently temporarily replace standard sounds with custom sounds from a hog file with D2X-XL.

FYI: OOF tool seems to mess up face normals, at least that's MetalBeast's experience with it. Not that we'd need it since introduction of ASE support in D2X-XL, but maybe you want to look into it.

I will write an ASE exporter for Descent models and levels, but that will take a while. We will need it for the port to the new engine anyway - I want the entire D1+D2 level base available for it. ;)

Well, once I've given my current ISP the boot and moved to a better one you can join the D2X-XL forum and ask our main modeler MetalBeast for help.

As far as I know he isn't too fond of face removal tools and does everything by hand.

What will not come back is the file mess (everything except missions in the main Descent folder).

Apart from that must your problem be a setup problem. You're the only one having it.

Try a clean reinstall somewhere else and use the default pilot.
