DFI boards are what a lot of people are building AMD systems around, though they do have elaberate BIOS that can be dificult to set up. Solid boards if you don't mind learning how to set one up. Dwhy would you be wanting to hobble a Venice core AMD chip by burdening it with an nForce 3 chipset? nFor...

I didn't have to reset the router itself, just the modem. I had already forwarded my ports in the router, but since the modem itself was blocking them, I had the issue here of trying to get into the modem and turning off the modem's firewall. Not sure if that helps, so feal free to ask for clarifica...

The T72 btw. is by no way superior to the M1A1 in DC. Actually, it is inferior, because it cannot rotate the turret 360 deg due to the rear mounted gas tanks. On that point I can not agree. :) I spend almost all of my time in DC as a tanker, and the T-72 is always my tank of choice. It has a lower ...

You're right, setting it to bridgeed mode will solve my problem. Unfortunatly, Verizon set a custom username/password and I can't login to the modem to do that without setting the modem back to factory default settings. After I set it back to factory default, I do not know what settings I need to se...

Re: Wow, I REALLY hate Windows XP
Well, there's my vent of the evening. Anyone else had to do this? I hate to say it, but activation is one of the major reasons I never purchased* XP. I would have absolutly no patience for what you just did. Probably would have just Fdisked the sucker, installed 2000, and struggled on untill Vista ...

BF 1942 / DC / BF2 ... awesome ... wish I had more time to play them. I can agree with the first two, but BF$ lost it for me. '42 and DC especially throw reality to the wind in order to keep gameplay from suffering. For example, in DC the highly inferior T-72s of the Iraqi army are not only on par ...

Disabling the #$%ing firewall in my DSL modem.
I just switched to Verizon's DSL service. After configuring my router and software firewall, I found that I still could not host games because Verizon's Westell 6100 DSL modem has a built in firewall. The modem has a setup utility available at IP 192.168.1.1, but it seems that Verizon has changed th...

That's fine.
If they're not doing much gaming, look into the 6800 GS. It's currently around $200, and performs just under a full blown 6800 GT.

Diablo 3 to be MMO? Erm...
Acording to what's essentilly a rumor in a news blurb at bit-tech, Diablo 3 may end up being MMO. Considering the succes of the whole WoW thing, it sounds completly plausible. Personaly, I would simply never buy D#3 if it was MMO. A vast majority of the time I spent in D#1 and D#2 where in single pl...

The going theory is that GTOs are actually X850s that have been dumped to make room for the new cards, since all 16 pipes can usually be unlocked and generally will clock up to X850 XT speeds or higher. If I remeber corectly, GTOs have 12 pipes active and 4 disabled, while GTO2s have all 16 pipes en...
