Behemoth is greater than both you and your little partner boy.
But you're right, sadly you are all n00blets compared to his greatness.

Hmmmm. I defeated Behe once. I may have a shot then. :P

I need to challange you guys then. I don't think anytime this month would be good. I've had the whooping cough and the school work has piled up.

would you care to remind me of that littlezero?

You do have the edge in 1v1s, this much is true.

However, I said it at the beginning of the thread and I'll say it again, you partner will always get waxed because there is no competent fourth player.

Now, in all fairness, a Behe/Ryu teamup would be just as devastating, and so would Behe/me.

In fact I would love to team up with a fourth (Thorne for example) and take a shot at Behe/Ryu. That would be some awesome competition to go up against :)

But not a Behemoth/Thorne? ;)

Well, the ideal would be a round robin where we do

Ryu/DT vs Beh/Thorne
Ryu/Beh vs DT/Thorne
Ryu/Thorn vs Beh/DT

I did something similar a couple years ago with Beh, Javed, and JF and it was a lot of fun.

That sound pretty fun, if we could do some interesting levels.
I'd like some D-day, or even IO

I'd be down for something like that.

Anytime this month and part of next month is bad for any planned games. See you in the mines if I see you in the mines.

Alright, stalling time is over! My work has died down a tad so I'm able to play now as well. SickOne/Thorne? This weekend good for everyone?
Sickone wrote:I will likely have to stall until Monday the 26th or after. I am hammered on a project for work, so I am stuck this weekend and through the week, then next weekend my daughter is coming to visit. We also need to get Thorne.

I am trying to some play when I can so I am not a total disappointment:)

I do suspect I will only be able to handle one game to a hundred(at least in a single sitting)

Should be fine for me.

I am game.
I feel I am still well below the level of
play I once had, but that won't stop me :)
Thorne got a chance to see/play me. So as
long as he is willing I am proud to fly
with him. I am hoping that old age and treachery
will win the day :)

Two things.
1) I am sure that a few months from now I would like a rematch.
2) As I said in an earlier post I am willing to do whatever. Though I don't think my wrists could take 3 games to 100 in one sitting. I am willing to try.

But you guys call it, and I will be there

Cool, we'll definitely try to get a game or 2. But, if your wrists start bothering you, we'll call it quits early. Health first!

wow what kind of Descent player are you ? Health first ??

heheheh - seriously I wish I had taken better care back in the day. But simply couldn't stop playing then.

I will give it my best. A lot will come down to the way the matches goes, the pace etc. Somedays I seem to be fine, others not so much. I am assuming I'll have to do lots of moving have even a chance :)

Sickone, being old and treacherous didn't help me yesterday in Abend2. Sergeant Thorne did some slumming and handed out lessons to the needy. ( Note to self: Buy more freezer packs and a Humble pie.)

Mickey, I got to eat plenty of that humble pie yesterday being served by Thorne. I even got a little in the evening from Ryujin.

I would claim that Thorne kicked me while I was down, but I am not sure I ever got up :)

I was not displeased given how long I have been back.
I got some of that Abend and Thorne was running like 70-75%, I managed 50%... well againt Thorne specifically he took me 2.5 to 1. But he is a mean guy :)

I also got some time in Fury Core with Thorne, and Alpha, and some other. Grendel had it up on his server and verbage said \"Remember\" - it was outstanding fun.

The indika game in the evening was nuts. Nine pilots in indika... you were lucky if you were only being shot from 3 or 4 sides. I managed, what to me was respectable - granted under an alias so Thorne wouldn't pick on me :)

Yesterday was the best day since I have been back
Thanks to all who played, it was a pleasure being abused by you :)

And it was fun playing you. :-D

Thorne is getting better. Watch out for this guy. He might actually be able to compete some day soon.

Other pilots like Shockwave, you sicky, etc. are all getting better too. Soon enough it'll just be all bad-asses and no noobs!

You all get better, I'll stick with mediocrity!

That's what I like alpha - commitment :)

\"might actually be able to compete\" hehe. I don't blame you for not knowing it yet, but I am simply the best ever to pilot the mines. I am a D3 genius trapped in the body of a rookie. ;)

I did get killed twice after you said 'gg' in BI3 the other night, before I managed to pull the score screen from your flaming wreckage in an admittedly kamikaze fashion, so let's not jump the gun. ;)

Fixed my hat switch today. Once I finish repairing my repairs to my 3D Pro I should be in good shape for our match. You fellas better bring something to dry your eyes with. ;) (and after Sickone's done with you I'll make you cry some more)

Thorne's been stepping it up. Should be a good time.

When are you guys thinking for the weekend? I'm tied up for the morning/early afternoon of Saturday, but other than that I should be available if we can get it schedule ahead of time.

Somewhere between 7pm and 12 EST would be best for me.

Evening works best for me as well. A start time from 6-9 PM EST would be ideal.

I remember years ago playing ST in a game of D3 in the level halfpipe and it was a very close match and it was tons of fun.

so we are talking like 7 - 9pm eastern time (4 - 6pm pacific) I should be good with that.

I remember that match! It was for the then Planet Descent ladder.

So let's make it 7:30pm EST on Saturday for the 2on2.

my oh my.... I'm going to have to cut my arm off and attach a new one to play... anyone have a spare. actually I will be in the mines shortly ...rehab on my torn tendons in my arm is almost done

It will be good to see ya in there Bubba.
I am hoping this weekend some of the others
I have been bugging start showing up.
Wastemore & Typhoon should be up and
running today or tomorrow. Dustbunny
has poked his head in when I wasn't there
(saw him in the score list) And Wastemore
gave Nirv another nudge :)

If they don't start showing up I am gonna
start posting 'film' I have of them :) ahhh
blackmail :)

I would be up for some D1.
I would pretty noobish... but I am game
I only have rebirth running on my system
but I guess I could get straight D1 running
on XP with Kali.

Posted: Thu Apr 29, 2010 8:53 pm

Rebirth works fine over Kali. Just choose Descent as the game and then point it to the Rebirth exe. Then just start as usual choosing IPX game in Rebirths' multi menu.

yeah - but how do I get ipx on Win7 ??

Posted: Fri Apr 30, 2010 12:12 am
by flip
I'm using Win7 ultimate 64 bit and it works fine.Kali emulates IPX and encapsulates it in tcp or udp packets. *I think. At any rate, it works no problems.

Posted: Fri Apr 30, 2010 1:30 am
by Sirius
That is exactly what Kali does (I think UDP is the weapon of choice for the game packets themselves, as it were, which considering the intent of the protocol is probably the most reasonable choice). Usually any problems with it are router/firewall-related.

Posted: Fri Apr 30, 2010 9:08 am
by Sickone
actually the problem I have is that the game says
\"No IPX Protocol\" when I try to start a game...
I guess I can try it under Kali and see what happens.

Bacxk in the day AI know my system had IPX loaded as one of the protocols. I believe still available in XP, but doesn't appear to be in Win7

Actually, there is one thing you may need to keep in mind when running games under Kali on Windows NT kernel operating systems - they have to be launched from Kali (through the \"Run on Server\" command) or they won't find Kali's virtual IPX driver.

Posted: Fri Apr 30, 2010 11:30 am
by flip
Yeah I just add the game to Kali. It shows in the bottom window after you've done that. Then start from the shortcut in Kali. No problems :)

cool I'll give it a try...
when I get it working maybe we can get a game
and you can come kick my butt
