A great Saturday Afternoon Game of Ascent !!

Post by Sickone »

I don't think I had ever seen the level.
Grendel's server provides me a an OK ping, and what a
blast !! I have had a few sessions so far this afternoon.

Pilots including Darktalyn, DragonFly, Cosmic Fool, [RIP] Hugh, Philly Cheese Steak, Von Cannuck, and many others.

Absolutely a great time...

Come on guys, if you read this board get in the game some more.
If you have any contact, or email addresses of old deserters like me - drop them a line and tell them to come play.

Agreed. I played a couple really fun games.

I hadn't played Ascent before. Cool level. Although, a little bit secondary-heavy for my tastes. But still very frenetic and fun. Good layout.

Be there soon, rehab on my arm is a long process... SuperKevin1

I seem to have a better workout dodging your stupidity than attempting to grasp the weight of your intelligence.

Bubba,
sorry to hear you are having troubles. I feel for ya.
My back is totally hosed. I can do Descent, just
need to limit play so my wrists don't turn to crap
like years past.

DT,
I would agree that the level is maybe a bit heavy
on secondaries. Given players of your skill, I might
argue that it is a bit heavy on MD and MD ammo :)
May also be that simply changing the powerup regen
time from the default 30 seconds, to 60 or even 90
seconds would solve the issue.

In any case, I really had a blast. So much so I didn't even mind getting my ass kicked :)

Im surprised you guys havent been in Ascent before.

I agree on Ascent have have too many rockets and MDs. I hate Ascent for this reason.

I was PhillyCheeseSteak.

It was pretty much a game of Frag-Tag, but Ascent is a fun level.
Amg! It's on every post and it WON'T GO AWAY!!

The layout of Ascent is GREAT; one of the best out there in my opinion.

Too many secondaries and MD ammo, but those can be fixed by the server-op. (Disable the MD ammo, 4-packs, napalm, etc.)

Ascent is probably the most played level of the european crowd. I really like it --- it is very pretty, has an incredible flow, and brilliant layout. Downside is the extreme focus on the MD --- 4packs of frags are usually disabled.

Disable the frags? I vote no!
It's never good to wake up in the shrubs naked, you either got way too drunk, or your azz is a werewolf.

Sickone, I just finished a game in Subway Dancer with the old descenter ghengis. Your plan is working.
Nice win the other day. Keep it up and your ship will be free of rust and shiney.

'ghengis' yep there is another name from the past.

Currently I am waiting for parts to build Nirvana one of Grendal's Sidewinder to USB devices. When he tried to play he had joystick troubles.

Mayhem is buried with work, but has commited to playing Nirv and I, and says his schedule will open up.

I am hoping to get some time to sort though my Old Descent system and grab email addresses from Outlook.
I figure many will be dead, but some is better than none. I will actively harass people into playing :)

heheh Yeah I must be ★■◆●, cause I was the one getting torn up :)
It was great fun, but absolutely crazy. There were 8 players in Skybox.. Genghis and Ryujin were eating me for breakfast. Over all I did OK, and given the competition I was pleased. Damn... 8 players in Skybox, basically means you are always being shot at from at least 3 directions... no sitting still.
