What, do you think, is the coolest robot in each Descent game?

These are my favourites:

D1: Secondary Lifter

D2: Bper, TRN Racer, and Green Spider (The D2 spider has the coolest robot sounds, in my opinion, and the TRN Racer's sounds are a close second. The Bper I just like for how it looks.)

D2 Vertigo: Compact Lifter, Logikill, and Class 2 Heavy Driller.

D3: Thresher and Spyhunter

D3 Mercenary: The alien bees from level 4, and the Heavy Trooper from levels 2 and 6.

D1:

- medium lifter
- class 1 driller (vulcan man)
- Big Boss 2

D2:

- Ice Spindle Defense Boss
- Diamond Claw
- System 5: Big Boss

D3:
- do not like any...

D1, Class 1 Driller.

D2, Diamond Claw.

D3, Tubbs.

D1:

Class 1 Drone(aerodynamics)
Class 1 driller and class 2

D2:

FOX
TRN Racer

Hmm, looks like I like the same as the most in here. The sidearm is pretty cool as well.

I don't really like the class 1 driller... they seem to enjoy torturing me too much... by far, the most evil robot in d1/d2.

Just imagine being catched by a driller... Coming to you while you sleep to bore a hole in your brain and implant a PTMC-is-the-best convincing machine to make you their mindless zombie... And then, it fails and the driller massacres you instead...
Scaaary!

BTW, PTMC actually is the best If they existed for real and offered me work I would absolutely say YES!
If only to radio control a driller... Hehe...

D2: Sidearm Modules (And the big boy they're attached to.)

D3: RAS-2: \"Tubbs\", RAS-3: \"Stinger\" (Black and Blue Variants, or cloaked as shown in Mercenary L1) , \"Old Scratch\" (Nasty bastards knock weapons out of you), The trooper Bots: All variants ranging from standard to the \"Blackjack\" sniper. And the \"Homunclus\" (WTF it's name is, it was a big hunk of ★■◆● at the end of level 6)

(Late P.S. That's a Class 1 Driller, for those who were asking. It has nothing to do with my favourite robot list, which may or may not include this one, I'm not really sure.)

I don't remember their names at all.

For D1, my favorite is the red homing missle hulk. (@30fps)

D2..There is nothing about D2 I liked.

D3, the vauss bots

the Merc MD (with the red lazer sights) bots. Those things make me nervous.

Awesome in the way of causing sheer panic:

D1:
-Class 1 Driller : catches you off guard in a dark room from a distance

-that Red Homing Missile Hulk (mentioned by testi) : simply being spammed by homing missiles from multiple of these guys can be a horrifying experience in itself

D2:
-those stupid suicidal fish things : anything that screams and then tries to ram itself into your ship is not only dangerous but just plain right wrong

D3:
- Old Scratch : especially when its a pack of them in a large room

- Flame RAS Gyro : <shudder> , dang those things are aggressive

That is my main D3 Pet Peeve....I hate them...blech. Nice to look at and have that "dope" look on their face...then whack...there goes your blackshark missile...whack..."Sir, was that your head flying past me?"

Flame Gyros...I hate them too...they're too upclose and personal. I'm a person that likes to fight in a good sized room where it can be called a "fight"

D3, L11 sixgun boss. Too bad you only meet him once in retribution, level 12, 3'rd bossfight.
I have made some levels with this guy, he's an awesome fighter, good aim and dodger.

Tailbot is fun to fight as well, but his shots doesn't do much damage.

RAS, flame-RAS, tubs, sixgun, threser.

Merc, laseraim MD guys, but too many of them in level 7.

also the D1 supervisor bot is the funniest :p

I have never been so scared as the first time I saw and heard a diamond claw come out of the darkness of Level 3 in Descent 2. It was 1996 and I was only eight years old.

Fusion hulk, yeah.

I'm gonna agree on the fusion hulk, as one of my first D3 multiplayer aliases (\"Fusion Mech\") was in honor of him.

Descent 1: Fusion Hulk, Class 1 Driller, both for making my day suddenly turn crappy.
Descent 2: Diamond Claw, Boarshead, TRN Racer all for looking like they could really ruin your day, oh yeah and level 3 for the Diamond Claw.
Descent 2 Vertigo: M.A.X. because of the homing flash missiles, Logikill only for it's name.
Descent 3: Old Scratch for its shrill scream just before cleaving you into pieces, Super Thief because it actually uses the weapons it steals from you (Super Thief + Vauss stolen = what I often call \"bad\"), RAS-3 Napalm unit because unlike its weaker blue cousins, it says \"burn!\" instead of \"freeze!\" and burning things is fun.

You're being way too nice there.

I've only played Descent 1, so here are my favorite bots and why:

Fusion Hulk: Looks intimidating and is, unless you know how to dodge a fusion blast

Medium Hulk: Their advanced AI type. They may be easy to kill, but their cunning ways are the most impressive AI I've ever seen.

Class 1 Drone: It's fun to see a huge group of these and obliterate them while dodging most of their fire.

Uber Hulks: They're really scary looking, and also difficult to fight without powerups simply because they can create bots out of nothingness right around them!

Descent 2: Commander Zangachoric of the T.B.E.R.O.
Descent 3: Xhyclirtavix of The Forbidden Zone

Oh, wait...

In no order: Diamond Claw, Medium Lifter, Fusion Hulk, D1 Level 7 Boss, and a whole lot of others I don't directly remember...

Mine are pretty simple,

D2: PTMC Defense Bot

D3 (Which is my favourite of all): StormTrooper (The green, with sniper.)

Simply because he looks bad ass to me, and I had a tough time beating him in Mercenary >=/

yea Fusion hulk. If I forget about it in that first secret level, I open the door and *bam* followed by a lot of swearing.
the drillers cause they are aggressive and mean.
Any thief bot. They also cause me to swear alot, esp when they take off with my quad lasers.

The fusion hulk is a lot of fun to fight, and they're not total cheapshots like the Class 1 Driller and Heavy Hulk. In D2, the mega missile boss from Brimspark was pretty cool, and the sixgun guy in D3 was a great design as well.

I like the Fusion Hulks too, even though I named them as the most annoying. They're worthy opponents, very tough, but not cheap. Vulcan drillers and red hulks are more frustrating.
