Descent 3: MERCENARY - level 3

Post by Alley7 »

Hello

I have a very big trouble with level 3. My guidebot is stuck in those wind tunnels. How to get him back? Please help me!

Thanks

AceCombat, i assume hes referring to the two extremely long ones that tie together the two poles of the station.

If it these wind tunnels, I believe its possible to go back and forth between the two station poles. If this is the case, and say the guidebot is stuck in the North bound tunnel, the player can take the Southbound tunnel to arrive at the entrance of the Northbound tunnel, and take Northbound to find the stuck guidebot (in guidebot menu select return to ship, and just try to ram into him)

hope this helps!

yeah thats what im thinking aswell, unless he is in the very large main shaft where the magnetic things push you back and forth.

Nope, my guidebot was sucked by one of huge ventilators. However, I managed to complete level without it.

was it one of the huge cone shaped cooling fans?

those things are notorious for eating guidebots :P

Yes. This is a serious mistake in level design beacuse some of those fans are indestructible, so there is no way of retrieving guidebot... :x

Could just finish the level. Most levels aren't so complex that you need one anyways.

For me the guide bot either gets in the way, or there's no path for him to get where i want him to go. Scripting for GB's can be rather involved in large mines and it's not always possible to account for areas they may be needed in.
