D1 level recommendations? (Now D2 as well, see 3rd post)

Post by kakhome1 »

I prefer D1 to D2 and just got Ingo it again a little while ago. I have either already played or already know of the following missions:

Vignettes
Lost Levels D1
Vertigo Dementia
Orion Nebula Project
Ironstar/blade

What are some other D1 single player levels and/or missions you'd recommend? I'm looking for whatever you can think of - especially if they are just one or two levels.

This is one of my favorites. Short campaign with half a dozen levels, but it has good atmosphere and re-playability.

Thanks for the recommendation. It looks like a good set from a peak.

I've also got D2 set up figuring I can for the most part just ignore elements I don't like. So I'd like to add to this thread what are some D2 levels or more recent missions you'd recommend? By more recent I mean released after The Enemy Within, but only for missions, as I could easily be missing some gems from any time in terms of individual levels. I already have the following post-TEW missions so I'm looking for additional recommendations beyond these:

Black Prophecy (XL)
Anthology
Dimensional Intersect
The Sphere
Enemy Vignettes

(Speaking from however long in the future) Plutonian Shores full version
Whatever I just said, I hope you understood it correctly. Understood what I meant, I mean.

D1 stuff - you have probably all the essentials? There are a few odds and ends that might warrant playing though - all of these appear to be early-career missions and have some rough edges - but may still be fun.

Invertaus: http://enspiar.com/dmdb/viewMission.php?id=106
Sirius System - a little oddball, still playable (has nothing to do with me I don't think ;)): http://enspiar.com/dmdb/viewMission.php?id=300
Nefarious Assault: http://enspiar.com/dmdb/viewMission.php?id=359
Revenge o' Dravis - this one's longer, apparently 30 levels: http://enspiar.com/dmdb/viewMission.php?id=988

24 normals + 6 secrets = 30 levels
