How to not push robots around?

What are the best strategies to avoid pushing robots around (it can get especially bad for me when sniping small(ish) ones from afar and using lasers)?

Use plasma cannon, or gauss.

Gauss? To avoid pushing?
Vulcan is a better choice there :P

He talks about small robots at large dist, Vulcan does not push but it does much less damage at long range because of it's spread, that's why I suggested Gauss,

Well with D1 primaries only except in extreme conditions (and Level 5 laser allowed) it is either Vulcan or Plasma.

Plasma, totally. The lasers make robots bounce like mad if they hit at anything different than a straight angle.

The answer is definitely plasma. Ironically, plasma is supposed to be ionised gas, so it has much more mass than lasers, which are focused light. Oh well, creative license :D

Fusion is also suitable for that, as in passing through robots it doesn't push them. In D2 phoenix seems to have similar traits to plasma. Vulcan is a sure one, but its spread is somewhat significant at long distances, so using it that way is rather wasteful.
