I don't mean to insult anyone here, and I think it rare for people, even Americans, to be this dim, but...

Hehe, that was kind of funny. My guess is that it's cut to show its point too. Honestly, when he said \"Name a country that starts with 'U'\", I immediately thought of Uruguay, not the United States. :)

Albert Einstein: Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

You guys know that I am loath to pass up an opportunity to slag off some stupid Americans, but I have to actually stick up for them here: Americans can NOT be expected to know about ANYTHING which happens outside the borders of the USA - there's simply too much going on in their own country to have to worry about what's happening outside it.

That's one of the things which I really felt when I lived there.

The other thing is that the vast majority of Americans have educations which are frankly, disgusting, and this doesn't help matters. ★■◆● international affairs, Americans need to be taught logic and reasoning! Hell, 40 percent of the country actually believes the world is 6,000 years old, and that God created the Earth, much as it is now, at that time. I mean, that's just fucked up!

It emphasises why Americans are easy to lie to, use, abuse and generally ★■◆● with.

However, there's ZERO political will to educate Americans properly because the politicians would then be scared, and the people relaxed.

And we all know that US politics works by scaring people, and fear mongering - without that, the populace could not be controlled as it is now.

\"We'll make a big glass crater out of the fkn middle east!\"

ROTFLOLOLMAO!!!!!

Wuahahahahahahaha!

I wonder whether Americans are actually right if they don't consider the U.S. of A. a country ... it seems to be an alien planet at times.

Rick Mercer's \"Talking to American\" If you can find this video, get it. It's similar to this but very funny.

All right, I'll grant you that.

Again, this is granted. Though please remember that there are a fair few of us Americans that actually have a brain.

My absolute favorite:

Q: How many sides does a triangle have?
A: Uh, 4?

Damn!

I wonder how the interviewer would have reacted if the guy had asked back 'faces or edges'?

/me thinks a triange has two sides. And three edges. :P

Seeing as a triangle is a 2d object, you're wrong. It doesn't have any faces or edges. "face", "edge", "vertex" = 3d terminology, "side", "point" = 2d terminology. Get it right, dude.

You forget that I can put a 2D object in 3D space. Or to put it differently: A triangle cannot only exist in 2D space, imvho.

Is that enough mutual exchange of smartassery? :P

True, but -

the map with Australia mislabeled as all those other countries (and people still misidentify it) is hilarious.

I beg to differ. Maybe in a computer world you can, but in the real world your triangle would have to have some thickness, making it a 3d object (triangular prism), and still making you wrong as to the number of edges/faces it has(9/5).
