Former Air Force Officers

Post by woodchip »

Anyone hear about this?

\"a group of former Air Force officers will stand before a National Press Club news conference, and disclose publicly their claims of encounters with UFOs.\"

Supposedly took place today

Go figure, had to go out of country for news.

http://www.montrealgazette.com/news/UFO ... story.html
http://www.montrealgazette.com wrote:Aliens have landed on Earth, infiltrated British and American nuclear missile sites and sabotaged weapons, according to U.S. air force officers.

Six retired officers and one former non-commissioned officer claim to have gathered witness testimonies from more than 120 military personnel revealing the infiltration of nuclear sites by aliens as recently as 2003.

In some cases, nuclear missiles supposedly malfunctioned while a disc-shaped object hovered nearby.

Capt Robert Salas, a former missile launch officer, said he was on duty during one incident at Malmstrom air force base in Montana in 1967.

In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And, you will be launching the largest aerial battle in the history of mankind. \"Mankind,\" that word should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore. We will be united in our common interest. Perhaps, it's fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom--not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution, but from annihilation. We're fighting for our right to live--to exist. And, should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice: \"We will not go quietly into the night. We will not vanish, without a fight. We're going to live on. We're going to survive. Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!\"

:D

It doesn't make sense. Why would aliens spend all the effort to get over here, then mostly evade our detection while dicking around with hidden missiles they somehow knew were nuclear, but without making them go off, and when we had no imminent plans to use them either? Were they just terminally bored?

This is what nature thinks of Nature Activists. We're wild life! They think they're protecting us from ourselves, like moving a turtle from the road.

...in some circumstances, that might be plausible - but we're talking about making nuclear missiles malfunction when they weren't going to be used anyway. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall any talk about \"America would have launched a nuclear war on xyz date, except their missiles were mysteriously not working\".

Edit: Or maybe it was just a field test of their human-electronics-screwing-up technology...

Dear Sirius,

This is assuming they are all knowing. I'm sure they'e awesome, if they do exist, but they should have limited visibility when it comes to the decision making process of our governments. If they did what they did, and I'm sure they didn't, it would have been because of that; they don't trust us.

Still doesn't make sense Isaac - of course it's doubtful they'd know everything, but that being the case, why mess with some of these missiles ... and then leave them alone for the next 40 years? It's not preventing us using them.

My point, in case it has by now gotten lost in the haze, is that if there are aliens, I think they have better things to do than this.

If I were an alien, I would be busy with so many alien activities, like zero gravity sex. I doubt I'd waste my time messing around with a primitive race's puny missiles.

I think it was the Russians.

They managed to win some contracts to build some of the missles... hence the malfunctioning.

That was insensitive of me. But srsly I just watched K19 recently.

lol, that's messed up.

You guys need to go play Shores of Hazeron. There you can be the ailen and find out why they would just give us a flyby or something.

I once hovered my AWACS over a weak empire and they all got in their fighters to try and shoot me down. My armor was just way to thick. I landed and someone said \"take over the ship!\" I just gave them a tour and kicked them out. :P

What I find really bizarre about the UFO conspiracy theories is that they almost all include the idea that the government knows about aliens, but is covering it up.

I mean, really, think about it. What do all governments want? More money and more power. What would happen if the government announced contact with aliens? Think about how much the government was able to increase their power after 9-11, with very few people complaining at the time. Alien contact would give the government far more carte blanche than that. They could increase taxes, they could create whole new departments, they could make new laws. Oh yeah, they are going to cover that up!

From an internal perspective, the two agencies most often accused of covering up UFO's are the military and NASA. What would happen to those two departments if alien contact was announced? Their budgets would suddenly go through the roof.

So yeah, I have a very hard time buying any conspiracy theory that requires me to believe the government is covering up a secret that if revealed would increase their power by orders of magnitude, and the Military and NASA are covering up a secret that if revealed would quadruple their budgets overnight.

Yeah. Right.

I guess what I find odd (besides that this happened 40 years ago) is that a ton of people are claiming to be witnesses on this.

Not only all of that, Kilarin, but there'd be no way in hell that any self-respecting scientist would be able to keep their mouth shut over something like that. It would represent literally the biggest development in all of human history...and if you're the one to come forward with proof, your name would be renowned for millennia. Keep that a secret? No way in hell. :P
