Looking for some old LAN pics

Post by Scoundrl »

Hey Guys. I am trying to track down some old descent pics. Would love to see some lan game summarys from the first couple uber fests in Atlanta and any information/pics about the Forsaken tournament at E3 in 1997 or 1998.

Any of you old schoolers out there can add me on facebook

Would love to play a little with some local guys or even good ole lan game on the net.

Take care all!

Actually there are some active players in Oregon. No LANs there yet though, closest ones were in Seattle (well, Everett, but close enough) in 2012 and 13.
A couple of places you'll find still-active players, some of whom probably still remember the 90s LANs:

Heya Scoundrl!

Here are some pics I have posted on Photobucket.

Slideshow

I'll see what I have on my HD at home beyond these.
I'm in Tigard btw. There are a handful of us here in the Portland area and as Sirius said, quite a few in the NW. Cuda is over in Oregon city ...somewhere... while his house is getting repaired.

We really should do another NW LAN in the Portland area as it's central to most players in the region. (wish I had a house) :P

Your best bet for finding old LAN pics and connecting to old school pilots in general is the Old School Kali/Kahn group on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/groups/kalikahn/

I'm not enough of a Facebook expert to know how to add you cold, so you'll have to ask to join it. But once that's done, if you look way back in the group's history, several old schoolers have posted very old pics of LANs. In particular, Descentile has put up some pics with you in them. :)

If you want to get back into the competitive scene, you should look over DCL's guide for returning players -- http://descentchampions.org/new_player.php -- it has a lot of information on where to meet pilots and how to get joysticks working and the like.

If you just want a casual game . . . I'd love the chance to play you. You have no reason to know who I am; I played on Kali around the time D2 came out -- after you were gone, I think. But I know your name! Come by the Rangers Mumble sometime. I'm there playing Descent most afternoons and evenings. :)

Omg, I looked at the kalikahn facebook page and I find a pic of myself that I never knew I posted :o
