Robot model for the PIG gets replaced by a TEW robot

Post by Xfing » Tue Jun 12, 2012 3:59 am

I have absolutely no idea why this is happening, whenever I put a PIG into my level or add it to the spawn list of a matcen, what spawns instead is the weakest robot from The Enemy Within. I don't even have any TEW data in that particular folder... do some files need replacing?

Hmm... could you list the files that are in your level HOG?
If there is an HXM try deleting it. If you've made any changes to robots you'll have to make them again.

Yeah, I already deleted the HXM from the HOG and everything's all right now. Funny how I don't recall making any changes to the robots at all, since all of the needed changes will be covered in an altered master HAM anyway.

What editor did you use? I think a few versions of DLE-XP have accidentally copied .HXM files if you view a level that contains them, then close it down and start a new file.

I'm not sure if this still applies to the most recent versions, but I'll add it to the bug tracker if I find out it does.

This could indeed be it.

Yeah, stuff like that is why I started using a "compile from source" approach for my levels; it lets you recreate it if something screws with the assembled package. Usually had all the component parts in some folder or other, probably backed up in triplicate or something, and put the whole thing back together again for release.

TEW robots made that approach suck though - I eventually got sick of it and wrote an XML-driven tool to build the HXMs for me.
