Custom Textures ....

Post by Duper »

How?

This is where I wish the old DBB was functional ... all the info for this kinda stuff was there andwas searchable.

Can someone point me to a good Tut? I know that I need to create a GAM file and that said texture needs to be 64x64x24bit. I have a dozen tools and can only get most to half work. .. like D3cp. wth??? It seems like half a program. Now, I know that plenty of ppl use it so I just can't get it figured out.

I'm in a bit of a hurry as I have a level almost done. I just need to add one texture. Please point me in the right direction.

Thanks!

It's EXACTLY like what I did here: phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=3796
Replace the first few steps with Converting the texture to an OGF file.

Then just make a gamfile describing the OGF as a texture and so on...

Just make sure you check the appropriate box for 64x64 or it wont work. Also make sure the gamfile has the same name as the final mn3 for the level or it will look weird. That was my problem with the custom object I posted about.

Thanks.

It occured to me that I needed to open one of the GAM files and modify it. I had no clue how to "MAKE" a gam file.

Thanks Jon. Make a couple tutorials outta this and submit it to http://www.planetdescent.com/d3edit/

for posterities sake. : )

There is a submit option and you have some great stuff here.

That's a good idea. I'm kinda busy at the moment but when I finish the project I'm working on, I'll definately look into creating some tutorials.
