Banned on several servers

Post by SuperSheep »

I seem to be banned from the Von and Over the Hill gang servers. This happens regardless of what pilot name I fly under. It also happens in two different locations, at my house, and at my moms house.
I do know that before on PXO, I was told it's because "The Man" was on the same IP range, but I haven't seen any hackers for some time now. Perhaps the ban can be lifted?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Sheep!

Ok I made a post for you into the ServerOps-Section to get you unbanned as soon as possible. you can contact the Ops on your own after registering to that forum and use the board's mail-function. But please wait a few days from now on - I posted it there what to do to unban you (I won't post any user's IPs here).

Is that server only on during certain hours?

Seems no matter what I do, I keep getting the server not found message.

Sheep, if you're running XP Pro, do "nslookup descentforum.net" from a command line... your DNS server might be wonked.

DCrazy, I did an nslookup as you said. Here's the results...

Server: ns.cmc.co.denver.comcast.net
Address: 68.87.66.196

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: descentforum.net
Address: 217.160.167.30

Any ideas? I tried going to the 217.160... address but came up server not found

To prevent hack-attempts from one "special dude" I put his IP-Range into my firewall to completely ignore every connection from him. He couldnt even ping (as you noticed).

Those days he was the only dude on that IP-Range...

I forgot that I didn't only put the IP into hosts.deny ^^ sorry about that - like I pmmed you already too...

Hopefully the ServerOps get you outta their lists now too...
