Hi,

I am an old old Descent FAN, it was the first online game i've played (it was under kali dos).
Looking around i saw Diedel has written a Win32 D2 version.
I bougght a joystick to replace my perfect but broken SideWinder 3D Pro and reinstalled D2.
Until today all releases were crashing during launching.
And Diedel created the 1.3.19 !!!

Wow !!! Here it is !!! Finally !!!
Even if i've not played a long time, all seems back :-)
The feelings, the sounds ... even the tripple chording !!

Many thanks for your work, hoping you'll can continue !!

;)

If you're curious, you might want to check out where it all started. D1x Project Original D2x project (now "dead", or might as well be since it hasn't been updated since November of 2003...)

If you like D2x, please help us encourage Diedel to fix the crappy OpenGL version of D1x that quite frankly has more bugs in it than internet explorer. :)

Heh!

Well, there are other programmers out there, you just have to encourage them... :)

You're welcome, Scarab. :)

It's absolutely unlikely that I will fix D1, but Steffen Pohle, who was long been providing D2X versions by cross-compiling them on Linux for Windows, has agreed to look and see whether we can get D2X-W32 to compile and run on Linux (making it D2LinuX, heh). I hope this will work out. :)

Otherwise I will have to do it myself.
