Proof Folding is EVIL

Post by Jeff250 » Fri Nov 12, 2004 1:25 am

Today I noticed that my CPU usage was only at 50%, so I decided to check things out...

Oh well. There goes my hyperthreading setup. I didn't like the RAM it was taking up anyways. #1 is still cranking fine though.

Now I guess I have to go find and run that NTFS scandisk thing that I think was supposed to be a vanity feature but might actually be useful now. :o

It is my experience that whenever I get that error ... no amount of scan-disking will make a difference. I would love to find a way to recover files from folders that are corrupted.

Grab the NTFS white paper and a hex editor.

Actually the chkdsk thing actually fixed and completely recovered the files, but I just went ahead and deleted them anyways, so no more HT advantage.
