Sound problems

Post by Xfing »

EDIT: Split from here

This thread's query has already been answered, now hasn't it? While we're at it we could talk about my sound problem maybe :)

Turning that -hires_sound from 2 to 1 not only didn't solve my sound problems, but made the sourceport crash after finishing loading the level.

Sorry if you've posted this before, but what OS are you using?
If you are using Win7. Try adding the -midifix 1 to you d2x.ini file.

What sound card do you have? Are the drivers up to date?
What video card do you have? Drivers for it up to date?

What d2x.ini settings are you using?

Make sure the -printlog switch is enabled in the d2x.ini file or place a d2x-xl.exe shortcut on your desktop and the add the -printlog command to the target line. When the game crashes, it will print out a d2x.log file in the main directory.
Feel free to post the contents of the log file here.

Is the XL sub directory's setup properly?

Is any other files such as rebirth sharing the same directory?
Do you have duplicate data files in the main directory or sub folders? Example: descent2.hog in main directory and in the data directory?

Try creating a new pilot profile or try using the default pilot profile to see if that fixes any issues.
