Weakness begets war...

Post by Nightshade »

In an unsurprising move- and one that may move Hugo Chavez from clownish baboon to a real threat, Iran is planning on basing ballistic missiles in Venezuela.

The US is collapsing as a world power and now this.

This will go down in history as Hugo Chavez's Here, hold my beer and watch this!\" moment.

Oh, well, it will make a good level pack for Call of Duty Black Ops and we'll be rid of the little macho fool.

I wonder if Obama would have the Bawls to do a naval embargo like JFK did with Cuba.

This is scary to say the least. Why would Iran need wepaons in South America? There is no reason unless they plan to attack someone on this side. Some people have a lot of nerve making deals like this. In today's very fragile environment with countries wanting to wage war for stupid reasons, I see this as a first step to anotehr war.

No, but with the last commander in chief we had, the old manual needed a few "just in case" revisions.

JFK was a giant dummy. Case in point: Vasili Arkhipov. Here's a less academic source for those of you who prefer funnies (I know I do).

Not to get into a debate about JFK being a "dummy", how does on Soviet naval officer having the balls to say "No, we will not launch the nuclear missile" make him one?

People tend to give JFK a lot of credit for \"solving the Cuban Missile Crisis\" but in reality he had next to no influence over the outcome of events.

Kennedy may actually have been more responsible for starting the crisis, because Russia perceived him as a weak president, after a certain meeting with the Russian PM.

And, guess who blinked first?

(yes it was us)

LOL @ Bee’s snide history remark…I bet she only knows the “official” American version.

The one and only time I ever logged onto “Conservapedia” was after “you” brought it up, and I had to go and have a look.

Give me a break, do you even know what ended the crisis? I bet you believe it was the blockade.

Clue, go look up Turkey & Missiles.

99% of Americans don’t have a clue what actually ended that crisis. All they know is that famous quote about being “eye to eye”.

Read the bottom line in the third paragraph.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuban_Missile_Crisis

Now why do you think Iran is trying the same tactic?

Clue…weak president…coughantimissilesystemcough

Obama will go down as the weakest president ever and allowing more nuclear proliferation than any preceding president.

I don't think that's a safe bet yet, haha. It's only halfway through term one. India and Pakistan have had nuclear strike capability since at least 1998, when they detonated bombs underground. North Korea has likely had a bomb of some description since the early 2000s, and Israel has had nuclear strike capability since the Cold War.
