Sneak Peak: Retrovirus Help web site

It was predictable I suppose, that I'd have to create a help web site for Retrovirus, and so I have. You may find it looks familiar, and that is because I have simply copied my D3 Help Web Site (Which is live again, after an absence) and crossed out the word "Descent" and inserted the word "Retrovirus".

The site is already populated with quite a bit of the available information about the game. And as I now have access to the development environment, I have been able to use Paragon to get some very nice images out the 18GB project.

A lot of details within the game are still in flux, and I will do my best to keep the information in the site as up to date as it practical. My intention is to have the site core-complete before the end of the month.

Get Retrovirus Help at: http://4sure.co.nz/retrovirushelp/
Get D3 Help at: http://4sure.co.nz/d3help/

With access to the editor, Paragon, I am making a start on creating the Burning Indika map for Retrovirus. I may also take a stab at Gladius, Skybox, and my own level, X-Box, before the release date in December. I can tell you with some authority, that Paragon is Light Years ahead of D3Edit, and creating maps is a a walk-in-the-park in comparison.

If you haven't already at least tried the demo of the game, please grab a copy free at Gamestop Impulse. The demo is here: http://www.impulsedriven.com/products/ESD-IMP-W3456 while the Alpha with full netgame support is available at: http://www.impulsedriven.com/products/ESD-IMP-W3455

I am online, in my server at 7pm and midnight PST, each day, if you want to play, and I am available at other times if I see you kill my Agent, the screen goes red, and I'll come running. The multiplayer game is proving to be very challenging, and I think you will enjoy it when you get online. There is still a lot of tweaking to do, but the core of the game is there, and it is very strong indeed. It's the one and only game which has made me sweat, scared and cramped since D3 came out.

If coming to play online, please add a pilot name to your player's INI file - C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Retrovirus\User.ini
Add (or edit) the line PlayerName = [insertYourName]
That way I'll know who you are. Or not, as the case may be.

If you get scanned refer to rule 1!!!!

The suspense!!!!

Will there be!?!? Actually I think the next page is "tactics".

I love these rules. They remind me of the movie "Dodge Ball", when they mention the 5 D's of dodge ball:

"Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive, and uh.. Dodge"

Not sure if error or inside joke I don't get: http://i.imgur.com/IrFPO.png

Excellent! Bookmarked. Change up that color scheme to help differentiate between the two sites! ;)

In the case that you get scanned by the enemy always, never get scanned.

Any chance a level editor gets released before the actual game? I'd love to try my hand at editing in this game and have a multiplayer level ready at launch.

Funny you should ask Avder! Please see my other new thread on this subject. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I'm glad you are enjoying the RVHelp site, and yeah - Tactics is next.

Changing the colour is not an option, as I am extremely lazy, and am already about 30 hours into it.

Hah! Understandable.

CSS class/tag rules are your friend. ;)

It has a style sheet and most of the site is driven by it, so it would be relatively easy to change. And I suppose I might make it a brighter orange to match the new forum colours at Cadenza. But hell, I am lazy...

Yeah, I noticed it was CSS-based. You keep doing your thing. If I get a chance maybe I'll give it a shot and send over what I come up with.
