Hi All,

How much would it cost to hire the descent 3 developers team and create a game like descent 3 from the ground up?

I might be interested in such a project.

Regards,

One game recently was $10,000,000 to make. I think it was Gears.

There's no need to do something like that, 'cause there already exists High Octane (i think that it has some programmers from the old D3 already hired, but not sure about this) and they are making Core Decision. :)

And BTW, CDN_Merlin is right, it's way TOOOOOOOO expensive to make a game like d3.

Invest the money in HighOctane :)

also, you have to avoid anything \"Descent\" if it's not just a mod. Copyrights are still in place. There are several threads on that very thing. :)

Half-Life 2 cost $40,000,000.

But then, they did hire professional actors and license a lot of things.

Producing top-of-the-line computer games cost as much as most movies nowadays. The Hollywood Producers Guild of America has formed a New Media Council to address the making of things like games.

...Oops...I didn't realize this thread was an old one.
