* agrees with solrazor* Mobius went from a halfway intelligent forum poster to a boring and obviously lifeless troll.

That's cool, but it doesn't show what other contractual obligations that Outrage and Volition may have been tied to.

Ok, I do have permission to release patches now! Took longer than I thought, but I got permission today. The next step is for me to track down the latest Mac and Linux source code, integrate those changes to 1.5, and build them. Then I'll get some testers and after a basic test release a public beta.

I'm open to adding more robust cheat detection. If someone wants to start a new thread with ideas about what that should do, feel free.

Thanks for your patience! I'll get it released soon!

In light of this news:

Patch Ideas...

Make it able to scan a small range of IP Port numbers so that Direct IP gamers don't always have to the IP :port thing. Scanning 20 to 30 or so ports shouldnâ??t be that hard or take that long.

Just think of all the LAN games that run more than one server on a box.

And don't forget all the Dedi server ops...

Does this mean that Mac and Linux 1.5 will, after all, exist?

If so, that's stupendous news.

@Kevin!

As you possibly know I've been working together with Jason Charles Feyers of Outrage to update the text version of the D3
FAQ to be included in the 1.5 patch in 2002. I'd have to replace some URLs on the links page, other than that the FAQ is ready to be included.

Please mail me so I can send the current version to you to be included the patch. I couldn't reach you by mail. Thanks!

Talkig about cheating, I played around with tablefile, specific entry: "ship Imageyro-gl". Initially I just wanted to replace the GL with a D4GX, then I played around with vauss entry, changed the delay from .1 to .003. That turns slow vauss into a hellfire, it kills hellion in 20 seconds flat. AND it works for multiplayer. That magnum is going down Image

Not likely. If you can't take a Mag down now, a cheating isn't going to help you. A bud of mine can take you down in less than 20 sec with a vauss at normal.

Sorry Sgt Bash, but that does not in fact do anything in Multiplayer. Vauss is an On/Off weapon meaning only if you are shooting or not is sent, not the individual shots.

Duper...That is true, typically if I can get a good bead on someone, they'll die in about 5-6 seconds. Course, if they just sit in one spot, even better. Image
