There are 3 or us at work who play daily during lunch on our network. We would be glad to test it thoroughly for you (Windows version). :)

Just for the record, og3 WILL work once this is released, right?

According to Valin, it will. The 1.5 patch will bump the number of custom models allowed, so conflicts such as the Mercenary/OG3 one should be a thing of the past :D.

it rocks, it's the best MOD for D3, probably the best MOD for any game except maybe Natural Selection on HL. So, of course poeple are gonna play it. It's tons better than OG1 and OG2. I can't wait for 1.5 comes out so I can actually play it with people other than Orbital people. [zombie]Orbital is the best internet-based organization in the world.[/zombie]

Maybe it would be a good idea to grant moderatorship of this forum to Kevin and lock this thread to non-moderators. Then when there's an update to this thread, we know that there's actually an update to the status of the patch. ;)

The hat I am going to eat when D3 1.5 is released is gathering dust. I really don't want to eat all that dust as well as the hat.

*sigh*

*glances at the Dev's last post date*

At least we know it's coming / in the works.

I mean, look at Halo. Halo won't ever get the HEK (Halo Editing Kit) and the 1.05 patch at the rate M$/Bungie/Gearbox is going. Game's already on its way to a swift death and it hasn't even been a year since its PC release.

Actually, Gearbox is done with it. It's at MS now ... and has been for over a month ... for testing.

Gearbox has no say in it after that.

That's not all, actually. D3 1.4 has issues with paging them, and that also causes problems. Models get mixed up with others.

Thought so.

You guys have to realize what it's like to be a programmer.

When you bust balls all day writing code for someone for 8-10-12 hours to make some cash to feed the family, it's really, really hard to get the motivation to come home and write yet more code. A bug that would take any developer 3-4 hours to fix and test, while they are on the job might take that same person 2-3 days just to fix, since he probably can't get 3-4 consecutive hours to work on the problem during the course of the week.

That said, a 6 word post saying "Hi, I'm still playing with it." Would be a good morale boost! (hint hint) :)

Has anyone heard from Kevin? I have him on ICQ, but he's never online, anyone else?

Hope things are just busy for him.

:?

I really hope that the 1.5 patch will lead to more players online, cause since the beginning of this year 2004 the number of players decreased a lot.

Wow, it is wonderful to think there just might actually be a 1.5 patch. This is exciting. Maybe I will soon be able to join more maps besides Stadium and a few others.

I'm running D3 on Linux and would love to test it.

I can't believe I never came here before. I have been Descenting sence Descent 1 and will not stop any time soon!!

Hello everybody!

Hey Kevin,

Just wondering if you could please post an update about the progress of the 1.5 patch, in particular the Mac version. And if I can ask too much, a rough release date?

I've been waiting for a mac os x version of Descent 3 for 3 years now... can u please drop us a line and let us know how the patch is coming along.

Thank you for all ur efforts u freely put into Descent 3 - the game is so much fun to play today because of what u have done/are doing.

Kiel :-)
